"Play in the Snow" was held in August last year and was a huge success with many visitors. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this event, which involves dropping 50 tons of natural snow into the plaza at the west exit of Ebina Station, adjacent to LaLaport Ebina, so that children can have fun touching the snow
The natural snow for this event is snow that fell in Yamakoshi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture last season. It is stored using a method traditional to snowy regions that does not use electricity, and is carefully packed and transported by truck the day before the event

On the day, there will be a "Snow Plaza" where you can enjoy touching the snow as you like, and a "Sledding Slope" where you can enjoy sledding on a specially set slope. In addition, snow air conditioners that use snow to create cool air will be set up in the rest tents, so you can rest your hot body in this natural air conditioning

The "booth area" will be lined with booths from sponsoring companies and LaLaport Ebina stores, and will feature product experience corners, workshops, winter resort promotions, raffles, and more
Additionally, the day before the event, the 17th Snow Citizens' Conference in Ebina will be held. This Snow Citizens' Conference is a forum for people who know the blessings that snow brings to "think about the future of snow country" through exchanges and activities. This will be the first time the conference has been held outside of a snowy region, excluding the 7th and 14th conferences held at Tokyo University of Agriculture. Information will be exchanged and disseminated from a variety of perspectives, including nature, snow utilization, education, urban development, and boasting about snow. Information
Play in the snow
Yuki de Asobina is an event that aims to convey the joy of playing outdoors to active families by giving them the extraordinary experience of "playing in the snow" in the summer, and to get more people interested in leisure activities, including winter sports
From 2014 to 2018, it was one of the events of the Ebina Citizens' Festival, and since 2019 it has been held at the west exit of Ebina Station with the cooperation of Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Ebina
In recent years, due to the effects of global warming, snowfall has decreased in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and snow is becoming a rare sight for children in the capital region. Therefore, we are holding Snow Playtime to provide an event where children can experience something they can't even experience in snowy regions, such as "playing in natural snow in the middle of summer." Our aim is to get many children interested in winter sports and to help them learn about snow, a resource that Japan can be proud of, while having fun
