ZAG is a ski brand based in Chamonix, France. With product development skills honed in the harsh terrain of the Mont Blanc massif, the company produces high-performance skis, primarily for backcountry skiing, and has earned the trust of many mountain skiers, especially in Europe
ZAG's classic touring ski model, UBAC, has finally undergone a full model change for the first time in 10 years
The UBAC has been reborn as a ski that can handle a wider range of snow conditions and terrain than ever before, with the addition of new feel and stability, while retaining the intuitive operability and lightweight climbing characteristics that were highly praised in previous models
Redesigned for better edge grip and control

The new UBAC features a modest camber and a reduced rocker profile. This increases the overall contact with the ground of the ski, allowing for stable gliding even on hard runs and varying snow surfaces. Of particular note is the new flex balance. By providing flexibility underfoot while providing firm rigidity at the tip and tail, turn initiation becomes smoother. The edges grip the snow firmly until the latter half of the turn, resulting in highly responsive gliding
The appeal of these skis is the peace of mind they offer, allowing you to trace your intended line without the skis shaking, even on rough snow surfaces or in situations with large changes in slope
New materials and construction combine lightness and durability

UBAC 95|D=129.5-95-114.5mm (173cm)|L=158, 166, 173, 178, 185cm|R=18m (173cm)|¥105,000
The core material is a poplar and paulownia hybrid core, which is also used in the brand's freeride model SLAP series. By combining the lightness of paulownia with the flexibility of poplar, it achieves a lightweight yet firm and satisfying gliding feel
Additionally, the topsheet features a new, highly abrasion-resistant material to withstand the rigors of backcountry skiing, while the new semi-cap construction enhances sidewall durability and edge protection without sacrificing weight

UBAC 108|D=141.5-108-127mm (180cm)|L=173, 180, 183cm|R=20m (180cm)|¥125,000
Additionally, the binding attachment area has been reinforced with a titanium plate, replacing the conventional phenolic resin, for improved power transmission and durability, designed to withstand aggressive skiing and repeated binding removal and insertion
The new UBAC is more than just a lightweight touring model. It's a ski that can handle tough climbs, rough runs, deep snow, and precise skiing lines, and is sure to lead the way in backcountry skiing
