This one bike will dominate the mountains. What is the "JONDANO COBRA," which inherits the lineage of Bluemoris JONDANO, aiming for?

For the 2026-2027 season, the "JONDANO COBRA" was born, inheriting the DNA of Bluemoris' legendary "JONDANO" while achieving even greater agility. It is said to have the sharp response of a cobra hunting its prey, allowing you to instantly dominate from groomed slopes to off-piste. Just how capable is it?

Bluemoris's manufacturing

From Aomori, a snowy region, to the world, Bluemoris is a Japanese ski brand that continues to pursue the ultimate in skiing. Crafted by skilled artisans who have a deep understanding of Japanese snow conditions, their skis have earned the trust of many skiers for their superior gliding performance

Bluemoris continues to release unique products with its own distinctive sensibility, such as short fat skis and the "RAPTOR," which can be used with two skis by switching the left and right skis. In the 2026-2027 season, they are attracting attention with the introduction of the "JONDANO COBRA," which is derived from the hugely popular "JONDANO" model

This one devicecan be enjoyed in any situation.

The development staff at Bluemoris confidently states that the "JONDANO COBRA" can handle any situation at any time of the season, from carving on the slopes to terrain play and deep powder. It inherits the overwhelming buoyancy and maneuverability of the base "JONDANO" while being a more user-friendly ski

This is due to technology that achieves both nimble handling and stability

construction and core material
. The overall weight of each pair is more than 500g lighter. This makes them easier to handle than JONDANO skis and less tiring to ski for extended periods.

The design
incorporates "Nose-Tail Rocker," which places rocker in both the nose and tail. This ensures buoyancy in powder while reducing snow resistance, allowing for smooth turn initiation.

The skis
feature a "Micro Stone Finish" on the base, providing a smooth ride that's perfect for Japan's wet snow.

What are the differences between this and JONDANO?

Let's compare the specifications of the "JONDANO" and the newly released "COBRA"

JONDANO |D=129 - 105 - 126m|R=15.5m|L=177cm|W=1790g|¥121,000

JONDANO COBRA|D=122 - 96 - 119m|R=16.5m|L=172cm|W=1530g|¥121,000

While the "JONDANO" has a fat 105mm center width, the "COBRA" is slightly slimmer with a 96mm center width. This allows for quicker edge changes on groomed slopes while maintaining buoyancy in powder, dramatically improving carving performance. The weight has also been reduced by more than 500g per pair, resulting in a lighter and more agile skiing feel

The JONDANO is a high-spec ski that allows for stable riding even on powder and icy slopes. It's a ski that you can ride without worrying about the various snow conditions depending on the terrain, temperature, and course in the backcountry. In contrast, the COBRA is a ski that allows you to ski freely on groomed slopes, off-piste, and through trees. It is designed with a shape that particularly enhances the quality of carving turns, while also maintaining the maneuverability that will satisfy you even off-piste

One of the developers, Koji Watanabe, is also satisfied with the JONDANO COBRA skis

The COBRA concept is to create a fun ski that makes everyday skiing feel like a special day, allowing you to carve, ride in the park, and even go off-piste

The name JONDANO COBRA was chosen because it allows for sharp carving on the snow, much like a hunter intently watching its prey as it moves across the ground

Bluemoris rider Shogo Kono also recommends it!

Furthermore, the cool cobra graphic, befitting the name, was created by designer Yui Wada, who hails from Aomori Prefecture, the home of Bluemoris. She learned to ski in the Hakkoda Mountains from a young age and has been skiing for over 20 years. As an adult, she became engrossed in freestyle skiing and has been involved in art production activities such as live painting, using snow-covered mountains and skiing as her subjects. For this design, she superimposed the unwavering presence of the legendary JONDANO skis onto the overwhelming presence of a wild cobra that inspires awe, and incorporated her feelings for her hometown of Aomori into the design

According to staff member Edo-san..

"While the basic materials used in JONDANO and JONDANO COBRA are the same, JONDANO, which requires rigidity and stability, has a thicker core material and a larger amount of reinforcing agent. In contrast, COBRA is a ski that aims to be a true all-rounder in a variety of conditions."

While it will yield to the JONDANO in harsh conditions like backcountry skiing, this ski is designed for freely traversing other terrains. We pursued lightweight construction while maintaining the ability to carve on flat slopes, float on fresh snow, and glide effortlessly down tree-lined courses. The difference in shape contributes significantly, but we hope you'll appreciate how even with almost identical basic materials, different usage techniques can result in skis with vastly different characteristics."
