What is the high contrast lens VIVID?
is an original collaboration with Carl Zeiss, a German optical equipment manufacturer that produces high-quality lensesD"lens
For many years, various companies have been devising solutions using different methods to make the unevenness of a pristine snow surface as clear as possible, but VIVID is unique among them.
This is because, instead of indiscriminately removing blue light rays that have been considered to negatively affect vision, it only lets in the necessary types of blue light rays. Since the natural color of snow is blue, leaving only the necessary blue light rays allows you to see even the finest unevenness more clearly than if you cut out all of them. The
VIVID lens was born from countless fine adjustments to determine which types of blue light rays are necessary.
'21 season lineup
GIRO has a wide range of goggles and helmets. The main lineup is as follows:

Here we will look at models that are suitable for more active situations such as backcountry and park scenes
<CONTOUR> 今季新登場
Semi-spherical lens equipped with EXV+ for the widest field of view.

The new CONTOUR model is the epitome of thought, consideration, and attention to detail, designed specifically for core riders. It features lenses incorporating EXV+ (Expanded View) technology, developed by GIRO through research into field of vision. While it's generally believed that the larger the lens, the wider the field of vision, the key is the relationship between the frame and lens shape. This led to the development of EXV+, a semi-spherical lens with a lens curvature of 6x 1.5 degrees. It also features a quick-change lens system with a magnet, making lens changes a breeze. With a new field of vision, your riding pleasure will reach a whole new level

<AXIS>The brand's classic model

AXIS is hugely popular among riders for its stylish appearance and convenient quick-change lens system. Two self-locating magnets and four pins hold the lenses securely in place, allowing for quick lens changes. Another reason for its popularity is that the lenses are not too large, making them a good fit for Japanese faces

<METHOD>Flat lenses are a firm favorite

METHOD offers a wide field of view, comfort, and all the other features you'd expect from goggles, all at a high standard. It comes with two VIVID lenses, one for sunny days and one for cloudy days. The EVAK Vent System, tiny air vents at the top of the goggles, releases moisture from the goggles, maintaining a clear view

<GRID MIPS>Packed with the latest technology

The GRID MIPS is ultra-lightweight and packed with high functionality. It uses POLARTEC in the inner lining for excellent heat retention, breathability, and odor control. It features the evolved MIPS Spehrical impact absorption system. This system absorbs the twisting force applied at an angle—considered the most dangerous during skiing—by rotating the inside of the helmet. By
bonding the shell and EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam with a rubber resin called elastomer, each component moves independently, reducing damage to the head. The simplified mechanism also improves ventilation and durability, which is a noteworthy feature.
<JACKSON MIPS>Ultra-lightweight model with a smart silhouette

This lightweight helmet focuses on design and style with simple decoration. The passive aggressive venting system, which allows air to flow throughout the helmet from the front vents, allows hot air to escape from inside the helmet not only while skiing but also when standing still. The modest brim and its sleek design, which is designed to not make your head look too big when worn, make it a popular choice. Big mountain skier Masahiro Yamaki is also a favorite
<NEO MIPS>Perfect fit for Japanese heads

The NEO MIPS Asian Fit model was born from thorough research into the shape of Japanese heads. It was developed based on a head form that was created through repeated verification and data collection of numerous Japanese head samples. There are two types of ventilation. One is a head control system that freely adjusts the temperature inside the helmet. The other is stack ventilation, which releases hot air from inside the goggles. This allows even those who sweat a lot to ski or snowboard comfortably
<LEDGE MIPS>Perfect for park style

This skate-style helmet boasts a classic look. Its lightweight, durable hard-shell construction, equipped with MIPS multi-directional impact protection, provides protection from harsh impacts. Its breathable, removable Auto Loc2 fit system ensures all-day comfort for intense park riding
GIRO Founding Story
GIRO was founded approximately 30 years ago by Jim Gentes to solve the problem of the lack of the best gear that they themselves could use comfortably and safely. While the environment surrounding the snow industry and the evolution of gear are relentless, GIRO's brand concept has remained unchanged since its inception. Products are created with a focus on protection so that skiers can perform at their best.
To that end, the manufacturers do not compromise during development. For example, the development team will discuss for weeks over differences of less than 1 millimeter, such as the nose bridge of goggles, the lens mounting points, the spectral curve of VIVID lenses, the head foam, and the vent chambers.
Many GIRO products are born from such dedication.
