MILLET's "TYPHON WARM NX STEEP" is a sweat-wicking, dry and comfortable garment

In the 2023-24 season, the "Typhon Warm Steep" was introduced as a garment focused on skiing and snowboarding, utilizing the characteristics of Millet's unique "Typhon" material, known for its high breathability. Further pursuing Millet's commitment to "dry comfort," the 2024-25 season sees an upgrade to the NX (Next) version, offering even greater waterproof and breathable properties. It has now been released as the "TYPHON WARM NX STEEP," a garment ideal for backcountry skiing

Updated with improved waterproof material

Millet's Typhon Warm NX Steep jacket and pants are highly functional. By "functional," we mean waterproof and windproof, and easy to move in thanks to its three-dimensional cut and stretchy material. For example, clothing that is fashionable but easily gets wet or restricts movement cannot be called functional

Millet has placed particular emphasis on the balance between water resistance and breathability. In other words, it is about "a dry feel that allows sweat to escape easily."

Many high-performance outerwear uses high-performance materials known as "waterproof and breathable materials." Not only do they block snow and rain, but they also have a "breathability" function that allows the moist, hot air (water vapor) inside the garment to escape. While breathability is less well-known than waterproofing and windproofing, it is no exaggeration to say that the comfort of clothing depends on its breathability

For example, simply increasing the waterproofness of a material will cause sweat to vaporize and soak the inside of the garment. This is extremely uncomfortable on snowy mountains, and if it cools your body in bad weather in the backcountry, it can lead directly to fatal hypothermia

This is the reason why Millet has been so particular about "dry comfort." Dry, comfortable skiwear that wicks away sweat and keeps you dry from the outside and inside ensures comfort and safety in the middle of winter

The key to this is the updated, proprietary waterproof and breathable material, "Dry Edge Typhon Warm." This season, the water resistance has been increased from the previous 20,000mm to 30,000mm, and the breathability has been slightly reduced accordingly. This change in specifications is in response to recent environmental changes, where wet snow, sleet, and even rain have started to fall even during the peak season

However, even though the specifications have been changed, the comfort of the garment has not changed, and when you actually put it on, it is soft and supple. Another feature of the Typhon series, its soft comfort, has been maintained

The Typhon Warm NX Steep is a garment that has been thoroughly designed for functionality in the backcountry. The three-dimensional cut and stretch material allow for unrestricted movement, and the details are also excellent, including zippers and pockets that can be used even while wearing gloves. This ski jacket and pants are safe and comfortable for the harsh snowy mountains of midwinter. It goes without saying that they are also extremely comfortable to wear on the ski slopes
