The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route will be fully opened on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. Thanks to La Niña, the 2024-2025 season brought an unbelievable amount of snow, so it goes without saying that there is still plenty of snow left on Mt. Tateyama this spring. It is expected to be even more lively this spring. It is scheduled to be open from Tuesday, April 15th to Sunday, November 30th. Many backcountry guide club tours are also open to the public. If you're heading to Mt. Tateyama this spring, be sure to check it out!
What is Mt. Tateyama like in spring?
Tateyama in the Northern Alps is a chain of 3,000m-class mountains. The overwhelming heavy snowfall and majestic terrain create endless lines, and the exhilaration of skiing from a 3,000m-class peak captivates any skier. Because you can ski earlier and later than anywhere else in Japan, it is said that skiers' year begins and ends at Tateyama
The season has arrived when backcountry enthusiasts from all over Japan gather in Tateyama!
"WEB tickets" for accessing Tateyama are already sold out for April from the Toyama side. From the Nagano side, there are only a few seats left until the end of April, showing just how popular they are. WEB tickets for May 1st and beyond go on sale from April 1st, so don't miss out if you're interested.

◆Tateyama 1-night, 2-day trip (with Raicho Onsen hot spring)|COLOR SPORT CLUB
The amount of snowfall is astonishing for this time of year! Mount Tateyama (3,003m), revered as one of Japan's three sacred mountains, has a feminine beauty; Mount Ken has a masculine "iron fortress" feel; and, with a base at 2,500m, you can ski down the 3,000m-class Tateyama mountain range! The numerous ski routes make it a place you'll want to return to again and again! Finally, the long-awaited reopening of the Murodo area of Mount Tateyama. Now that skis and snowboards are permitted, we're heading up the mountain in search of the last of the powder. With few visitors yet, the Tateyama area is practically all to ourselves, allowing for a day of skiing. Come and carve out a large arc! A different kind of enjoyment for the snowy mountains. Join us as we aim for clear skies and fresh snow, something only possible during this time of year!
