The history of BLACK DIAMOND is the history of freeskiing
BLACK DIAMOND was founded in Shimokitazawa in 1994 by Hideo Yoshizawa, a former All-Japan Mogul Skiing Champion, as a pro shop based on the world of moguls and extreme skiing.
In 1998, they produced a mogul course in Naeba, in 2001 a freeride terrain park, and in 2006, they opened "Kagura Powder Station" at Kagura Ski Resort with the concept of letting people experience the fun of powder by renting fat skis. They are pioneers who have successively opened up the world of freeskiing and backcountry, leading the scene.
Currently, the Shimokitazawa store has been renamed BD Shimokitazawa. Reservations are only accepted during the summer. In winter, Kagura Powder Station operates at Mitsumata Kagura Ski Resort. They stock a wide variety of specialized gear and accessories necessary for backcountry skiing, as well as convenient and popular items for use on the ski resort, and are loved by core users.
Furthermore, locals from various ski resorts frequently stop by, providing a wealth of information. It's an invaluable place for exchanging local information and shopping for essential items.

Kagura Powder Tours are divided into three classes: beginner, intermediate, and regular. The beginner tour is for those who are intermediate or above in skiing but are new to backcountry skiing. The intermediate tour is for those who are new to backcountry skiing but aren't confident enough to join a regular tour
