Shugakuso Asahikawa is a mountaineering and skiing specialty store located in Asahikawa city, near the Daisetsuzan area. It's a must-visit place when heading out into the backcountry in the Daisetsuzan mountain range.
The staff are well-versed in telemark and climbing, and will provide you with any advice, including how to use equipment and field information.

The sales floor is compact but has a rich lineup
The Asahikawa store is a compact version of the Hokkaido University and Shiroishi stores in Sapporo. Though the sales floor area is only 330m², it is packed with over 100 outdoor brands. They offer flexible inventory transfers between stores and provide the best possible guidance

Assistant Manager: Masahiko Tamura, Ski Specialist
After working at an outdoor shop and a mountaineering manufacturer in Tokyo, he moved to Asahikawa 14 years ago. Upon moving, he obtained a certified instructor license from the Japan Telemark Ski Association and is still active today, mainly in backcountry skiing (telemark).
He also plans and manages telemark ski race events, and is dedicated to promoting telemark skiing.
