Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort ['25-26]

Introducing recommended courses, weather forecasts, live cameras, and course maps for Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort

What is Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort like?

The spectacular view of Mt. Kasatake from the top of the slope and the "Kumayuki" powder snow are the attractions

Kumanoyu is well-known for its heavy snowfall, even within the Shiga Kogen area. The bowl-shaped ski resort is almost entirely on north-facing slopes. The slopes, spread between 1,690m and 1,960m altitude, are protected from direct sunlight on the north side, ensuring excellent snow conditions for extended periods. The snow quality is dry and superb, earning it the nickname "Kuma-yuki" (Bear Snow), making it a popular ski resort among powder enthusiasts.

While compact in overall size, it boasts many courses with substantial slopes, providing a satisfying skiing experience. The numerous drop-offs and descents ensure endless fun. The beautiful sunset and stunning views of Mt. Kasadake from the top of the third lift (1,960m altitude) are another unique attraction of Kumanoyu. From there, it's also possible to connect to Yokoteyama Ski Resort.
