Ten years after the closure of the Hachimantai Ski Resort, the vast area has been redeveloped and safety measures have been thoroughly implemented to revive it as a backcountry area. This is where HACHIMANTAI CAT TOURS, run by local volunteer guides, was born. With its
powder snow renowned as the driest on Honshu, its varied terrain, and the beautiful scenery created by nature, including frost-covered trees, cat skiing allows you to safely and fully enjoy the charms of Hachimantai.

Cat tours are currently offered by the following four guide companies in Hachimantai City (certified guides by the Japan Mountain Guide Association), each offering their own unique program and schedule. Each company's program reflects its own distinct character, making them all interesting.
