"I want to ski even in the summer!" "I want to get better!" "I want to be able to do tricks!" For avid skiers and snowboarders, "off-season training" is a part of their summer routine. We bring you the latest information on popular training facilities across the country, including water jumps, summer slopes, air mat facilities, and indoor slope parks
Make the most of summer and have fun while improving!

This summer, 2024, is set to be a record-breaking hot one. People often say that a hot summer leads to a cold winter, but it's precisely during this time of year that we can cool down, imagine winter, and boost our motivation. For skiers and snowboarders who love to ski, there's nothing better than being able to ski in the summer. Plus, if there's a chance to "improve" your skills during the summer in preparation for the new season, why not take advantage of it?
There are a variety of training environments, including water jumps where landing in water gives you the feeling of a pool, comfortable indoor slopes with air conditioning no matter how hot it is outside, pleasant summer slopes at ski resorts surrounded by greenery, and air mat facilities where you can practice air tricks without getting hurt
Water Jump

Water jumps are often used by professional mogul and snowboard athletes for summer training. There are several famous facilities across the country. Various jump lanes, large, medium, and small, are set up, and the landing area is the water surface as shown here. Unlike on snow, even if you take a big leap or perform an air trick during practice, the landing is generally painless. In the summer, you can practice your air tricks in a pleasant and fun way while taking a dip. Gear rentals are also available
Summer slopes

Summer ski resorts are surrounded by the green nature, a stark contrast to the winter scenery. Even in the middle of summer, just visiting the cool and refreshing plateau is soothing, and it's also stylish to go all the way to a summer ski resort to seriously ski and practice. Artificial snow mats such as "PIS*LAB" are laid out on the slopes, allowing you to practice turns with a feeling similar to that of being on snow. The ski resort also has a wide range of indoor and outdoor attractions, including restaurants, hot springs, and pools. It's also great for families to enjoy
Air mattress facility

As you can see in the photo above, the landing zone for jumps is made of air mats. There are kickers of various sizes, large, medium and small, so you can enjoy jumping according to your level. The impact of landing is absorbed by the fluffy air mats, so it's not scary or painful. Unlike water jumps, you don't get wet, so it's easy. Rental gear is also available
Indoor slope

An indoor slope with courses and parks made with artificial snow. There used to be several, but now Kamui Misaka is one of the few indoor slopes. Even in the summer, the high-quality half-pipe is maintained, and at 100m long, 4m high, and 14-17m wide, it's a more than adequate size. It's a very popular training spot for pipe riding. Designers carefully maintain the entire length, creating an environment that's almost identical to a ski resort in mid-winter with artificial snow
