First time held in Japan! Salomon's "QST Film Tour 2024" was a great success

On November 9th, snow fell on the mountains of Hokkaido and the high mountains of Honshu

The "Salomon Quality Ski Time Film Tour 2024 (hereinafter referred to as QST Film Tour 2024)" was held at Cinema ROSA in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
In 2023, the QST Film Tour had 16 performances in various locations in the United States and Canada, and 5 performances in France, with nearly 9,000 skiers participating in total. In 2024, the tour will be scaled up to 7 countries around the world, including Japan, which will host the event for the first time, and will be a global film tour that will caravan through 20 cities from September to November.

The tours held in Shanghai and Beijing before Tokyo were also successful, suggesting that the groundwork for a rise in skiing throughout Asia is being laid.

This QST Film Tour allows you to experience the diverse stories and action of skiing all at once. Rather than just watching one film, you'll see several films covering a wide range of scenes, from big mountain skiing to street skiing, allowing you to experience the breadth and uniqueness of skiing. And when you watch it all on a big movie screen with powerful sound, the immersive experience is unmatched

November 9th was packed with snow-related events in Tokyo. With the Tokyo Snow Festival taking place in Yoyogi Park and a snowboarding film event taking place in the evening, it was an exciting day for skiers and snowboarders who can't wait for winter. Doors for the QST Film Tour 2024 opened at 3:30pm, and people were already lining up before the doors even opened, showing signs of impatience. The venue was attended by nearly 100 people, including a few famous skiers..

Cinema Rosa is known for screening indie and subculture films
As soon as the doors opened, the eagerly awaited crowd streamed into the venue. Katsuno Tenran's QST X and the popular BOA boots were lined up
Akira Sasaki, who Katsuno Tenran admires, also attended the venue
The POW video was shown as the opening sequence of the event. Given the recent weather changes, many people were watching the video intently
Now the screening begins. Before that, this time's guest, Tenran Katsuno from the Salomon Free Ski Team, appeared on stage at the invitation of MC DAIGO. Everyone stood up to welcome him

The following four videos were shown at the Tokyo performance: "SKINEMATIC" Made by HILLTON, and "Camp Blank" by Blank Collective.
Most of these videos will be available online after the tour, but "Hamon" by BONZ is a video that has not been released online. This video, created by the crew that produced the much-talked-about skis "Depart," is being shown in Japan for the first time. As guest Tenran Katsuno participated in the filming of the remaining two videos, "SKINEMATIC" and "Camp Blank," it was a real treat to hear him directly share the highlights of the videos.

One of the great things about film tours is that you can see ski scenes that you wouldn't normally see

The long-awaited raffle will be held between the videos and after the end of the film. By the way, those who participate in the tour will not only be able to register for the membership program, but will also receive a free entry fee and an original QST Film Tour 2024 T-shirt as a souvenir, which is a generous offer

Katsuno Tenran was the presenter, and Salomon beanies, backpacks, and goggles were handed out one after another by lottery. The draw that got the crowd particularly excited was the Salomon BOA-equipped freeride boots (SHIFT ALPHA BOA) and skis (QST X)

The atmosphere at the venue reached a fever pitch as prizes were given out one after another

The BOA boots and "QST X" skis worn by the skiers featured in the video were up for grabs. In addition to the skis displayed with the tapestry at the entrance, there were also retro-colored stripe bindings. With the option to choose the boot model and size, everyone watched the drawing with bated breath.
The two lucky skiers must have been looking forward to the season more than ever.

The SHIFT ALPHA BOA series that Katsuno Tenran is holding has five models ranging from flex 95 to 130. From there, you can find the size that suits you. Standing in the middle is Watanabe from BOA JAPAN

I came across the QST X from a skier who frequents Hakuba Goryu and 47. Use these skis to soar through Route 3, which is covered in fresh snow!

The two-hour event flew by with the screening of four films, a big lottery, and a short talk show between MCs DAIGO and Katsuno Tenran. Katsuno Tenran, who had three films related to him screened, shared his thoughts on the screening:

"Each of the four films has a different atmosphere, and I think they convey the freedom of skiing. The fun season for skiing is just around the corner, so I hope this event will get people excited. Watching the films on a movie theater screen with loud sound will really get you excited for skiing!!"

His words must have resonated with everyone present, judging from the commemorative photo session.
Be sure to check out the video as well.
