Grass skiing (caterpillar skiing), which involves sliding down grassy slopes, doesn't allow you to slow down or stop by sliding the skis sideways like you would with regular skis. Therefore, it's often more challenging for experienced skiers and intermediate/advanced skiers. The fact that stopping is different from regular skiing makes it a fresh and appealing challenge. Even beginner courses often feel steeper and faster than on snow, offering a unique thrill
You can use your own boots and poles, and grass ski rentals are available for beginners to competitive levels. It's also recommended for those who want to seriously try competitive skiing
