A famous spot frequented by past Olympic athletes
Opened in 1994, this is Hokkaido's only ski and snowboard-only summer training jump. It's a water jump facility with a proven track record, having been used by Olympic athletes and other top domestic competitors for training. Designed to match the elevation changes of a winter mogul course, from the lip to the water surface, the feel is almost identical to training on snow, allowing for realistic competition-like practice
The facility is located within the Shirakaba Slope at Sapporo Teine Ski Resort. The approach is 8m wide and 3m deep, while the pool is 12m wide and 22m long. There are three types of kickers with different launch angles and heights, allowing a wide range of people from elementary school students to seniors to practice according to their skill level. A trampoline is also installed, so if you just want to develop your aerial awareness, you can practice there efficiently as well
Even though it's summer, the location is at the foot of a mountain in Hokkaido. It can get cold in the mornings and evenings after getting in the water. Don't forget to bring warm clothing and a towel
This year marks our 33rd anniversary!
For its 33rd season, the pool area has been refurbished. The 33rd Teine Water Jump Competition, complete with a BBQ party, is also scheduled for Sunday, August 30th. Check the official website for details and the latest information
