The roots of BATALEON

BATALEON was founded around 2000 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. At the heart of its founding was Jorgen Karlsen, a biophysicist from Norway. Karlsen, who scientifically analyzed the movements of snowboards, had one simple question: "Why doesn't anyone design snowboards in three dimensions (3D)?"
The camber shape, which was mainstream at the time, offered excellent rebound and edge grip, but it also had the drawback of being prone to catching an edge. Therefore, Carlsen devised the idea of "3D shaping," which involved designing the board three-dimensionally not only vertically but also horizontally. This later became "Triple Base Technology (3BT)," which would become synonymous with BATALEON
The design slightly raises the outer edges of the board's nose and tail in three dimensions. This significantly reduces the risk of catching an edge, while simultaneously maintaining the camber shape in the center of the board. This mechanism allows for smooth turns without sacrificing rebound or grip

Carlsen pitched this idea to a major manufacturer, but was met with ridicule at the time. Undeterred, he launched the brand with like-minded friends. Despite being mocked for their "weirdly shaped boards," they delivered the boards directly to top riders around the world, spreading their reputation through word of mouth. The circle of support expanded from Europe to Japan, Canada, and South America, and eventually the entire industry came to recognize the validity of the 3BT concept
Topics from the brands featured on the 26th and 27th
The biggest newcomer of the 26-27 season: "Ghost FASE®"

Ghost FASE®
Flex: 5/10
Size: XS, S, ML
Color: Bone White, Black Camo, Black, Ocean Gray
The biggest newcomer for the 26-27 season is the Ghost FASE®. The "FASE® (Fast Entry System)" speed entry system allows you to put on your boots simply by reclining the highback, placing your boots on it, and tightening the ankle strap. Compared to conventional bindings that require fastening each buckle individually, the effort involved in putting on and taking off your bindings is greatly reduced
BATALEON is one of the founding brands of the FASE® system, and this season it has been implemented with an entirely new chassis
With a 5.0 mid-flex, this snowboard appeals to a wide range of riders, from young riders who want to have fun in the park to all-mountain riders who value the convenience of easy on and off. Regardless of style or skill level, this model is for anyone who wants to enjoy snowboarding more
Furthermore, Tor Lundström's signature model, the "Blaster AsymWrap™ Pro FASE®," will continue to be offered. This model combines the AsymWrap™ frame with the FASE®, and is a bike that has been meticulously designed in collaboration with Tor
AsymWrap™ is now upgraded with the FASE® system:"Men's Blaster AW FASE®"
Bataleon's best-selling "AsymWrap™" bindings have been upgraded with the innovative FASE® system for quick and easy attachment and detachment. The "Men's Blaster AW FASE®" features an aluminum frame with an UnderWrap structure that connects to the baseplate at three points, and its aluminum base provides excellent responsiveness. Centering can also be adjusted by moving the heel cup. Because the FASE system is incorporated into Bataleon's most popular BLASTER bindings, the overall balance is exceptional

Men's Blaster AW FASE®
Flex: 6/10
Size: Neon Yellow (M/L, L/XL) Black (S, M/L, L/XL) Sky Gray (M/L, L/XL)
Men's Acid Double BOA®has been significantly updated.
Since BATALEON officially launched its boot line in 25-26, the Acid has been positioned as its top-of-the-line model. The 26-27 model includes several significant updates

Men's Acid Double BOA®
Flex: 7.0
Size: 7-13 (0.5cm increments)
Terrain: Park / Resort / Pow
The most noteworthy change is the repositioning of the BOA® system. It has been changed from the previous top-and-bottom configuration to a "double-sided configuration." This allows for independent adjustment of the shin's flexibility while maintaining a secure fit in the midfoot. For riders who seek such fine-tuning—where the perceived stiffness of a boot changes depending on how the BOA® is tightened, even with the same flex—this change should be quite noticeable
The ankle area features AuxTech® PowerStrap, providing both a secure fit and comfort. The newly added DryKnit SnowGuard is a practical feature that prevents snow from entering the boot. The outsole has been updated to Vibram® XS TREK, improving grip when walking on surfaces other than snow, such as ski lifts and cafeterias
The "Future Flex" construction and Injected Progressive FlexTongue ensure that the board maintains its flex throughout the season. Whether you can maintain the same ride feel from the first day to the last is actually the most important point for riders who plan to use the board for a long time
" Placebo," a new work from a prodigy of 3D who has dared to venture into 2D.した新作「

Placebo
Directional Twin
Flex: 8/10
Camber Height: Medium
Size: 149,153,156,159,162,160w,164W
"Why would someone who uses 3D shapes create something flat (2D)?" This season, BATALEON has released a product that makes you want to ask that question: "Placebo."
Described by BATALEON as their "first challenge into the second dimension," this all-mountain board is designed for riders who prefer a flat profile. The lightweight Light Core and centrally located CST SuperTube™ generate significant pop, while the mid-stiff flex and Impact Plate reinforcement enhance resistance to landing impacts
Why a flat structure now? The answer is simple. Riders have diverse preferences, and it cannot be said that "3BT is the optimal solution for everyone." This is a result of the brand's sincere response to the demand for a flatter ride. The fact that a brand that has pursued 3D for over 25 years has dared to step outside of that framework undoubtedly represents BATALEON's manufacturing philosophy
