ROME's roots

ROME was founded on June 5, 2001, in Waterbury, Vermont, USA. Having dedicated over 20 years to snowboarding in Vermont, the brand has built its reputation on a freestyle DNA while meticulously refining its usability on the slopes.

Founders Josh Reed and Paul Malavetz both had experience working for major snowboard brands. Driven by a DIY spirit and East Coast ethos, and with the belief that they wanted to create truly usable products rather than relying on flashy marketing, they built ROME from the ground up.

The brand's technical foundation and consistent product design philosophy is "adding only the necessary reinforcement where it's needed." By incorporating reinforcement materials, such as carbon or bamboo molded into rod shapes, into the optimal positions within the board, rebound force can be added only where needed without altering the overall flex pattern

The "Omega Hot Rod" is a higher-end version of the hot rod, encased in an omega-shaped carbon sleeve. By using carbon or bamboo, and single or omega-shaped sleeves depending on the model, the riding feel of each model is precisely tuned, creating the riding experience that is intended. This philosophy and technology continue to permeate ROME's entire lineup even after more than 25 years

ROME's commitment to directly incorporating rider feedback into its designs has remained unchanged since its founding. As the slogan "All Ways Down" suggests, ROME continues to create products for riders who keep riding, both on and off the slopes

The "Viper family" has been completely redesigned

ROME's biggest focus for the 26-27 season is the revamping of the directional twin category. The "Viper family," consisting of three models—Viper Pro, Men's Viper, and Women's Viper—has made its debut as a completely new product in the heart of this new lineup

The defining feature across the entire family is the Fusion Camber, a hybrid shape that blends camber in the center with rocker at the contact points. It offers both stable edge grip and ease of pressing, making it suitable for everything from groomed snow to powder

All three models feature Directional Diamond 3D, a three-dimensional shape applied only to the nose to support buoyancy in deep snow and turn initiation. They also incorporate Directional Double Kick, which causes the tail to rise in two stages. The differences between the three models lie in the "Hot Rod specifications" and the "Flux Impact Plate," which is only featured on the VIPER PRO

All models feature the "True Twin Tri-Radial Sidecut," a sidecut that seamlessly blends three different sidecut radii. This allows for smooth turns whether riding regular or switch

Introducing the new "Volt FASE" binding from FASE®!

The FASE® (Fast Entry System) automatically raises the highback when you insert your boots and automatically releases when you pull them up. This system, which fundamentally eliminates the stress of putting on and taking off boots, now has a new line added for the 26-27 season: the "Volt FASE," which fully emphasizes freestyle performance

The biggest innovation is the adoption of a "monoframe" chassis. Unlike conventional frame structures that combine parts, the entire platform is finished from a single piece of molded nylon, achieving uniform and smooth flex. Combined with the medium flex setting (flex index 5-6), it is designed to be easy to press and style. The

main features are as follows:

• FASE® Kinkladder: The ankle strap attachment position can be adjusted to two levels. A higher position provides quick response, while a lower position offers a playful feel.
• Omni-Flex Ankle Strap: A highly fitted strap that directly transmits edge-to-edge power while flexibly following torsional movements.
• Universal Adjustable Disc: Allows for adjustment of the stance angle in the toe-heel or nose-tail direction, making it compatible with any board.

While the existing Katana FASE is designed for premium and high performance, the Volt FASE is positioned for daily use by freestyle riders. Its design combines hands-free attachment and removal with uniform flex thanks to its monoframe, ensuring comfort on the slopes throughout the season

This season, ROME is releasing its first signature collection with Rene Linnekangas. Rene, from Finland, embodies overwhelming power, refined technique, and an original style all at once, and was named Torment Snowboard Magazine's Men's Rider of the Year 2025. The collection will be available in two models with different characteristics: the Rene Pro and the Rene
