Supporting junior athletes
BOOKOFF is also keen to support junior athletes who aim to become the best in the world. At the same time, they sponsor tournaments and events for these sports, working to liven up the scene. Since its founding, BOOKOFF has had a corporate culture of "supporting those who are working hard." Creating an environment and conditions for junior athletes and supporting them to "achieve their dreams" and "aim for the world" also leads to an increase in the number of entry users
Currently, Team BOOKOFF supports surfer (shortboard) Kana Nakashio (ranked number one in the Japan Surfing Association's annual rankings for five consecutive years), Hiroaki Kunitake, who placed fourth in the snowboard big air at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and young hopeful Himeka Morii, all of whom are athletes affiliated with the team.
The company also sponsors snowboarding competitions, and last season became the title sponsor of the "BOOKOFF presents FIS Big Air Japan Cup 2023." An FIS-sanctioned tournament is a competitive scene that athletes hoping to reach the top will want to participate in. This kills two birds with one stone: discovering promising juniors and promoting BOOKOFF's commitment to sports.
BOOKOFF reports on the athletes they support during their seasons on a special website, sharing their dreams and spreading the word. They say they will continue to put more effort into developing juniors.

On-site purchases at user events and ski resorts
BOOKOFF actually uses various methods to expand the number of people entering the sport. One of these is participating in events. For example, they set up a buy-back booth at "Fuyuspo," Japan's largest ski and snowboard equipment sales event, which is held nationwide from Hokkaido to Tokai. When users bring in gear they no longer need, they receive a voucher that can be used at the event to buy accessories and other items. BOOKOFF then sells the gear they buy at the event online and in stores
Ski resorts also hold events where they can buy and sell gear on the spot. Especially in the early spring skiing season, when skiers are finishing up their skiing, there are often times when people say, "I'm done with this gear this season." If they can buy it on the spot, it's great because it doesn't have to be taken home and become a clutter in the storage room or room. They've been getting more offers to set up booths at these events recently, and they're actively participating

For those who "can't wait for winter and snow," the "Yukigoi CAMP" is held every autumn at Maiko Snow Resort in Niigata. In addition to the usual annual content such as shopping at booths by popular ski and snowboard brands and ski resorts from all over the country, and snow-making ceremonies, a new "flea market" area will be added this year. BOOKOFF will be setting up a buying booth at this venue.
