Simultaneous announcement of two new Jeep® models & start of orders

Jeep announced the latest models "Jeep® Commander" and "Jeep® Grand Cherokee". And from October 24, 2022, orders have started at Jeep authorized dealers nationwide.

■ Jeep® Commander

A long-awaited 3-row seat, 7-passenger new mid-size SUV was born from Jeep. It will be the successor to the Cherokee, whose production for the Japanese market will end at the end of 2021, and will fill the gap between the Compass and the Grand Cherokee. The latest digital technology and advanced driver assistance technology (ADAS) realize class-leading convenience and safety. While maintaining the Jeep's traditional off-road driving performance, it is equipped with a full range of functions that enhance the comfort and safety of the occupants, and also has a luggage compartment capacity and arrangability that responds to a variety of lifestyles.

In addition to the evolution of body rigidity and materials, it is equipped with ADAS that supports safe driving of the driver. It has many functions such as highway assist system, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and drowsy driving detection. In addition to this function, parking assists such as parallel parking, diagonal parking assist, and 360 ° view are also equipped. More than 60 other systems support safety.

The exterior inherits the lineage of the "Grand Cherokee L". The 7-slot grill on the front part is designed to be integrated with the headlights. The roof part uses a black paint roof to create a premium atmosphere. In addition, the trapezoidal wheel arches that are typical of Jeep are still alive.

The interior is also finished with a high-quality design that has been carefully selected. Depending on the body color, black and emperador brown are combined, and the diamond quilting applied to the support part of the seat gives it a higher quality design. Each row of seats in the car has plenty of space. All seats have a reclining function to support a comfortable ride. The doors open up to 80 degrees, making it easy to get on and off.

The Commander is the first Jeep to be equipped with a turbodiesel engine. The 9-speed automatic transmission is combined with the electronically controlled 4x4 system "Jeep® Active Drive" to achieve high off-road performance and low fuel consumption. Equipped with the "Select Terrain™ System" that achieves optimal driving by power train and electronic control on any road surface condition. You can also select the "SNOW" mode, which makes us happy as snow sports lovers.

We also announced the introduction of the "3D configurator function" that allows you to check the image of accessories installed online and the color configurator of the interior and exterior in 360 ° and 3D on the Jeep official website. It is a tool that allows you to consider a purchase regardless of location, even before visiting a dealer. This feature will be rolled out to all models in the future.

At the beginning of the introduction, only the Limited model will be available, and the manufacturer's suggested retail price is 5,970,000 yen. Sunroof (+160,000 yen) and pearl coat (+55,000 yen) options are also available. (Tax-included price)

In addition, along with the announcement of Commander, the "New Sophisticated Adventure" campaign will start next year. Multi-talented Mr. Yuji has been appointed as an ambassador and plans to spread the charm of Commander in the future.
