K2 JAPAN is hosting
the 4th K2/BCA Tateyama Tengu Classic 2022! We're looking for participants! This three-day
from May 14th (Sat) to 16th (Mon), 2022.
Enjoy a backcountry tour unique to Tateyama in spring.
The annual K2 JAPAN backcountry skiing event "K2/BCA Tateyama Tengu Classic" to enjoy spring in Tateyama will be held again this year!
The three-day event is packed with fun programs, including ski tours guided by K2 contract guides (Horie Jun, Saeki Iwao, Igarashi Kazuya, and Handa Yuzuru) who are experts on the fields of Tateyama, a participatory event called "Tengu Classic" where all participants create short turns on a single huge run, and workshops. This event, held at a time when there are no crowds after Golden Week, is an event for backcountry riders who want to fully enjoy the true charm of Tateyama's backcountry at an altitude of nearly 3,000m and who are particular about the quality of their skiing
[The three pillars of Tengu Classic]
1. Tateyama BC Tour (We offer short tours and optional tours)
- Enjoy spring in Tateyama with guidance from a guide who is familiar with Tateyama!
- By using Tengudaira Sanso as a base, you can also make effective use of the fields in the Midagahara area.
Also, during this season, you can use the bus between Midagahara, Tengu-daira Sanso, and Murodo instead of the lift.
A. From Tengu-daira to the Midagahara area (using seals and the bus)
B. From Tengu-daira to the Murodo area
C. From Murodo to Tambo-daira (using seals and the alpine route)
D. From Murodo to Tsurugisawa and Masagosawa
2. Participatory event "Tengu Classic"
All participants will try short turns on the steep, single slope behind Tengudaira Mountain Lodge!
How you try is up to you. You can try in various ways, such as solo, formation, eight, etc. Now that wide skis are in vogue, it's the perfect time to try!
3. A workshop where you can test ride and try out the new 2022-2023 K2/BCA models.
Try out the new gear for the 2022-2023 season on the snow! From fat skis perfect for backcountry use to BCA avalanche gear, you can actually try it out and see how it feels.
