This weekend's cold weather has left the area around Tateyama Murodo covered in snow
The snowy mountain season ends in Mt. Tateyama and begins in Mt. Tateyama. Snowscapes are finally beginning to appear on Mt. Tateyama, signaling the start of the 2020-21 season.
The first snow was seen on the summit of Mt. Oyama (3,003m above sea level) in the Tateyama mountain range on Saturday, October 17th. This is said to be a little later than usual.
The live camera installed at Tateyama Murodo (2,450m above sea level) provides real-time video, and as of Sunday, October 18th, the area was covered in snow, as shown in the photo above.
If you watch the time-lapse video (one day's worth) taken from 4:00 to 20:00 on the previous day, October 17th, you can clearly see the snowfall.
The natural snow season is just around the corner!
From the end of October through November, several ski resorts are planning to open for the 2020-21 season with artificial snow made by snowmaking and snowmaking machines, but Tateyama is a natural field where you can ski on natural snow earlier than anywhere else. Tateyama is covered in an incredible amount of snow even in November, and every year ski photographers and riders flock to take photos, and backcountry guide clubs organize tours to kick off the season
