There is an environmental organization called POW JAPAN whose mission is to "confront climate change from the standpoint of skiers." Based in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture, the organization is active in a variety of areas, with five members currently living near the fields and working towards the vision of realizing a carbon-free society initiated by the snow community
