Ryuo Ski Park is located on the mountainside of Mount Ryuo, towering 1,930 meters above sea level in the Shiga area of Nagano Prefecture.
In addition to the dry powder snow unique to the Hokushin area, the park is also attractive for its panoramic views that stretch from the Northern Alps all the way to Sado Island. If you're lucky, you might even be able to witness the mystical sight of the sun setting over a sea of clouds.
This season, Ryuo is seeing the opening of a long-awaited tree run area. Located midway up the slope, directly below the ropeway summit station, the three-area tree run area is adjacent to Ryuo's famous "Kiotoshi Course," a popular destination for snow enthusiasts seeking smooth powder snow. With the opening of the area, the course's name has been changed to "Kiotoshi Bowl," and as its name suggests, it's garnering attention as a new spot where you can enjoy the spectacular natural terrain that unfolds in a semicircular shape.
On this ungroomed course with a maximum gradient of 36 degrees and a maximum length of 1,400m, you can enjoy long runs with changing scenery, stream terrain that gives you the feeling of riding a wave, and the thrill and exhilaration of sliding through the trees. Helmets are mandatory on this course for advanced skiers

A tree run area has also been created at the summit area, which even intermediate skiers can enjoy. With a gentle slope with an average gradient of 10 degrees, you can easily enjoy tree runs. Furthermore, the area is surrounded on both sides by ski resort courses, so you can safely return to the course without getting lost. The view of skiing through the pure white frost-covered trees is also highly recommended
