Togari Onsen Ski Resort to undergo major renovation in 2025 | Japan's longest mogul slope, new park, and Yakiniku Jumbo debut

Togari Onsen Ski Resort in Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture, will undergo a major renovation in December 2025, marking its 65th anniversary since opening. This renovation will include multiple updates, from major functional improvements to the general slopes, to the invitation of a restaurant produced by popular Tokyo restaurant Yakiniku Jumbo, and the opening of Asia's first fully members-only slope next season.

Togari's slopes are being reborn!

The entire slope will be renovated in December 2025 with the aim of increasing the satisfaction of a wide range of visitors. The highlight will be a full-scale mogul run, over 300m long, the longest in Japan. The technical course will be suitable for hosting SAJ-certified competitions, providing an ideal environment for advanced skiers to hone their skills.

A new freestyle park will also be built, featuring jumps, jibs, and even half-pipes, allowing skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the slopes in their own style. A special slope will also be built for carving enthusiasts, with groomed snow twice a day.

Nagano Olympic gold medalist Satoya Tae's production school opens

From January to March 2026, M FLAMINGO SKI ACADEMY, a ski academy produced by Tae Satoya, a gold medalist in women's moguls at the Nagano Olympics, will also open for a limited time. Top skiers, including Nobuyuki Nishi, who has competed in three men's moguls competitions, will serve as coaches, offering a wide range of programs from full-scale mogul training to health-oriented lessons. Satoya himself plans to take part in some of the lessons.

A new gourmet spot has been born!

The renovations will not be limited to the slopes; the resort will also greatly enhance its food offerings. Yakiniku Dragon produced by Jumbo, a new restaurant produced by Yakiniku Jumbo, a famous Tokyo restaurant that is often booked out, will open its first restaurant in Nagano Prefecture on December 27, 2025, allowing diners to enjoy Tokyo flavors at the ski resort, including the famous Nohara-yaki. Lunchtime menus featuring Wagyu beef from Iiyama City and local vegetables will also be available.

Furthermore, the popular Harajuku restaurant "Chuka Soba Tsukemen Hajime" will open on December 20th, where you can enjoy a bowl of ramen to warm you up after skiing. Also, the mountaintop cafe Sky Top Café, where you can enjoy lattes, apple pie, and more, will open at a scenic spot on the ski resort.

With this renewal, all facilities at the ski resort will be cashless, allowing you to use the facilities without taking out your wallet. It's also great that you can reduce the amount of unnecessary luggage you need by not needing a wallet.
