About a 20-minute drive from Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, tickets are on sale again this year for the CAT tour in the Karifuridake area, surrounded by the Daisetsuzan and Hidaka mountain ranges. This luxurious backcountry tour takes you to the 1,323m-high Mount Karifuri, complete with a guide and a special lunch. Experience the dry powder to your heart's content in the vast, trackless, dedicated area, surrounded by magnificent scenery, the diverse natural terrain, the fascinating slopes and tree runs, and the open, spacious runs.
The snowcat cabins heading to the skiing point are fully heated, ensuring comfort during the journey. You can start skiing in perfect conditions. The planned number of runs per day is 4-6, split into morning and afternoon. Lunch is served in a yurt on the mountainside, where a special lunch that will warm you from the inside out is served, including seafood hotpot and shabu-shabu. After the tour, an after-session is held, where you can look back on the day's skiing and have fun.
In addition to free rental of backpacks containing a full set of equipment such as beacons, shovels, and probes, powder boards and fat skis are also available for rental, making it a great place to participate without any hassle.
This popular tour fills up quickly every year, and although it is scheduled to be held every weekend during the period, January is already fully booked. If you want to participate, it's best to make your reservation early.
