Talk event with Tsuyoshi Endo entitled "The Current State of Arctic Indigenous Peoples" held at Patagonia stores (Kyoto, Fukuoka, Karuizawa)

Photographer Tsuyoshi Endo has been passionate about his project "POLAR EXPOSURE" for the past few years. This upcoming talk event will use his photographs to introduce various contemporary social issues that emerge from the changes in the lives of snow people in the Arctic. The event will be held at Patagonia stores in Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Karuizawa. In addition to one-way communication from the speaker, the talk will also feature live music and beer. Keep an eye out for guests with strong roots in the local community at each venue. Enjoy the world of the Far North with a beer in hand

Tsuyoshi Endo

Born in 1978. Originally from and currently living in Omachi, Nagano Prefecture. Since 2017, he has been making expeditions to the Arctic Circle and continuing to shoot documentaries. He continues to record the impact of rapid climate change on the local ecological environment and the changes in primitive folk customs. His photo books include "inner focus" (Shogakukan)

Kyoto Store Guest Speaker/Live Profile

NABOWA

A four-piece instrumental band based in Kyoto. They have performed at major festivals both in Japan and overseas, and in recent years have earned high acclaim in Asia as a live act, including a three-city tour of Taiwan and a solo show in Hong Kong. They released their seventh full-length album, "Fantasia," in June 2021

Co.YAMAP Representative Director andCEO Yoshihiko Haruyama,

Born in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1980. Graduated from the Faculty of Law at Doshisha University. Dropped out of the Wildlife Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After working for the editorial department of Kaze no Tabibito (Wind Traveler) at Eurasia Travel Agency, Inc., he went independent. Wanting to create a system that utilizes IT and smartphones to rediscover the richness of nature and the local climate, he released YAMAP in March 2013. As of August 2023, the app has been downloaded over 3.9 million times, making it the largest mountaineering and outdoor platform in Japan

MASUO (Desiderata)

Born in Nagasaki in 1974 and raised in Nerima, Tokyo, he dedicated his youth to rock music, but at the end of his teenage years, inspired by the club culture of the early 90s, he shifted his focus to nightclubs

In 2008, he founded "Lighthouse Records" in Dogenzaka, Shibuya. As the owner, he is passionate about preserving record culture. After relocating to Fukuoka following the earthquake disaster, he opened "Desiderata," a cultural space that combines a record store, bookstore, restaurant, and event venue, in 2017 to pursue his ideals. He has invited many DJs and artists from Japan and abroad to perform at the space, contributing to the Fukuoka music scene

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the store has been closed and the system is now in operation at Bar Sirocco in Yakuin, Fukuoka

Karuizawa Store Guest Speaker/Live Profile

Masayuki Hattori

Born in Chiryū City, Aichi Prefecture in October 1976, Hattori moved to Tokyo in 1996 and began working as a songwriter and guitarist. In 2005, he formed the vocal, guitar, and drum duo Namu. Their unique style, often described as progressive folk, has garnered a large fan following. In 2006, they toured New York solo, and have since performed at festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival, Earth Day Tokyo, and Summer Sonic. In recent years, he moved to Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, where he felled trees and encountered people who made furniture from them, becoming a full-fledged lumberjack. Three years ago, he began hosting a program on the local radio station, FM Sakuradaira. He is currently a father of a two-year-old and is dedicated to achieving self-sufficiency in energy, food, and water, doing his best every day. In 2023, he founded Hattori Kikaku Co., Ltd
