This winter, the only test center in Hokkaido where visitors can try out the latest models from VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports, a brand founded by legendary skier Marcel Hirscher, who has set unprecedented records including eight overall World Cup victories and two Olympic gold medals, will open at Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort. This test center will be open for a limited time from Saturday, December 13, 2025. In addition to test riding, this will be a rare opportunity to try on the brand's Pro 130 series of ski boots.
The VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports skis are a one-of-a-kind product that incorporates the same structure as the skis used by the world's top skiers into a commercially available model. Just one year after its launch, the skis have taken the World Cup scene by storm, earning high praise from media and avid skiers alike, and being described as "the skis that most evoke racing DNA."
This test center will be the only location in Hokkaido where visitors can test ride the VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports. The fields of Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, known for its excellent snow quality, are the perfect location to fully bring out the best in each model, including racing, high-performance, and freeride. One of the attractions is being able to compare multiple different models and enjoy the differences in gliding feel and performance - a FREERIDE model for powder days, a racing model for packed-down runs, and a high-performance model for speeding down the long runs that are unique to Sapporo Kokusai.
In addition to skis, you can also try on the original ski boots "Pro 130" series, which has been a hot topic since its release last season. This will be a rare opportunity to try out both skis and boots on the snow at the same time.
