Rusutsu Resort wins Japan's Best Ski Resort award at the 2021 World Ski Awards
The WORLD SKI AWARDS is a prestigious awards ceremony known as the Oscars of the global ski tourism industry.
The contest, which began in 2013 with the aim of raising the standards of the ski industry, is now in its 9th year.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of skiers and snowboarders from around the world vote, with each category covering ski resorts, hotels, travel agencies, and other organizations from around the world. Nominations are announced in May, and after a public online vote, the 2021 winners were announced on January 17, 2022. The awards ceremony is usually held in Austria, but this year the announcement was made online

This year, the top prize in the "Japan's Best SKI Resort 2020" category went to Rusutsu Resort in Hokkaido.
Rusutsu Resort has won the "Japan's Best Ski Resort" award three years in a row, in 2017, 2018, and 2019, making this their fourth win in two years.
