Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in a small town in northern Sweden by three people: Stefan Engström, a World Cup winning mogul skier; Peter Blom, editor-in-chief of Ski Magazine; and Christer Mårtensson, art director and designer
Initially, their goal was to create clothing that they and their friends would want to wear, and they thought the profits would be enough to make a living. However, the quality and design of their clothing were well-received, and the brand grew rapidly. In 2026, 40 years after creating "clothing that combines excellent functionality with simple, attractive design," their curiosity finally reached the realm of space
High-end padded jacket "Whitelight APX"
As demand for resort models that allow for comfortable enjoyment on the slopes grows, a new high-end padded jacket has been released, aimed primarily at sophisticated piste skiers seeking the ultimate in performance and style.
Combining two cutting-edge materials, "Graphene®" and "Solarcore®," this next-generation skiwear delivers superior warmth, breathability, and comfort.

Two types of high-performance materials
What is "Graphene®"?
Graphene, a new material discovered in 2004, is characterized by its thinness, strength, and excellent heat resistance. This material is an extremely thin flat sheet, only one atom thick. It's a little hard to imagine, but it would take three million sheets stacked together to make it 1mm thick. In terms of strength, it has particularly high tensile strength, more than 300 times stronger than steel. It also has high thermal conductivity, allowing it to efficiently disperse body heat and maintain comfort even in environments with extreme temperature changes. It is also antibacterial, odor-resistant, and lightweight
What is "Solarcore®"?
Meanwhile, "Solarcore®" is an insulating material derived from NASA technology, and is characterized by its thinness, lightness, and high insulating properties. It is extremely thin and lightweight, yet has excellent heat retention, keeping you warm even in cold climates. It
is a proprietary patented technology from the American material technology company OROS Labs, and was developed based on the aerogel used by NASA as an insulating material in space suits. It has long been used by several outdoor brands, and OROS Labs, the developer, also develops original apparel under OROS
1. Extremely thin yet highly insulating
Solarcore® is only 2-3mm thick, yet has heat retention capabilities that surpass those of conventional down and synthetic padding. This is because aerogel is made up of 99.8% air, which minimizes heat conduction
2. Resistant to compression and moisture
While conventional insulation materials can lose their performance due to compression or moisture, Solarcore® maintains its insulation performance even when compressed and is not easily affected by moisture, ensuring stable performance even in harsh environments
3. Environmentally and people-friendly design
Solarcore® is environmentally friendly, with PFC-free water-repellent treatment and the use of recycled polyester. It is also vegan-friendly and does not use animal-derived materials, and is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified
