Concept store "WHITE TIME" and Daisuke Sasaki's signature model appeared|VECTOR GLIDE

VECTOR GLIDE opened its concept store WHITE TIME on June 12th. The store is located in Yamabukicho, Shinjuku Ward, north of Kagurazaka. With the motto of "Enriching your time on the snowy mountains," the store offers a selection of skis and other carefully selected gear, proposing a lifestyle for enjoying the snowy mountains.

Producer Masayuki Akiba is often at the storefront, so you can ask him about skis in detail, if time allows. He'll tell you about the concept and specs of new skis, the inside story behind the graphics, and of course, he'll suggest skis that perfectly match your own skills and what you want to do. There
are also plans to hold workshops and pop-up shops, so it looks like it will be an irresistible space for ski lovers.

The hot new model, Daisuke Sasaki's signature "Nadurra"

The Nadurra is a new addition to the lineup for the 2021 season. Named after the Gaelic word for "nature," this ski is Daisuke Sasaki's second signature model, following the Cordova SuperLight, in which he was fully involved in development.
For him, who guides in fields around the world, mainly in Hokkaido, this is the ski he needs to climb and ski down snowy mountains in all conditions.

Nadurra 185cm|138.5−115−130mm|R=24m

This ski uses a cap structure on the sidewall and topsheet.
The advantage is that by integrating the sidewall and topsheet, it is possible to reduce weight and thin parts, which allows for adjustment of the flex that is unique to the cap structure.

Furthermore, the "SUPER LIGHT CORE" is used, which is about 20% lighter than conventional core materials, and the flex at the tip and tail is set softer. As a result, the swing weight is lighter, making the ski easier to control. The addition of carbon also makes the ski extremely responsive to the skier's movements.

This construction makes the "Nadurra" the lightest model in the brand's entire range. Not only does this have a positive effect on the skiing, but it also makes it easier to handle when breaking through deep snow, allowing you to hike up lightly.
By conserving your energy, you will be able to concentrate more on skiing and have more fun.

Brand Philosopher

VECTOR GLIDE launched with seven models in 2003. Based on the theme of "uncompromising craftsmanship," the brand currently offers 19 racing-spec freeski models (including kids' models).

Each ski uses dozens of natural woods as its core, and nearly all models feature a sandwich construction that allows for freedom of torsion and flex. All models are produced in Japan, allowing for accurate communication of vision to the production team, numerical management, and immediate confirmation of test model performance.

VECTOR GLIDE has several models in its lineup that have remained unchanged since the brand's founding. For example, the original flagship model, the Cordova, has retained its outline for 17 years, adapting to different purposes through different core materials and materials. The brand has matured without significantly altering the ride feel. Meanwhile, skis with new ride feel are given new names and added as new models. However, the brand does not blindly release multiple new models every season.

The largest volume is in the "All Mountain" category, with seven models. The more clear you are about what you want to do on the snowy mountains, the more unique skis will suit you perfectly.

Next comes the "Telemark" category, with five models, which is a testament to the VECTOR GLIDE brand's unique style. Telemark skis have been made specifically for telemark skis since the brand's founding, and because the load position is completely different from alpine skis, they have a setback center position, uneven thickness, and a slightly softer flex, which differs from alpine skis.

There is another signature model for the 2021 season that is not listed in the catalog. This is the "MASTIFF BOUND," a Makoto Asakawa signature model limited to 20 units. In this age of rocker, this model is the only one in the world with a 110mm waist width and a traditional camber structure. It is also refreshing that it is available in one size, 193cm.

This model is a special model that can only be purchased at the WHITE TIME e-store

Review of the standard model

Finally, let's introduce some of VECTOR GLIDE's classic models

Genius Standard / Carbon 185, 193cm | 155-130-140mm | R = 33.3m (185cm)
*Image is of Genius Standard

The Genius is the flagship model of the Big Fat series, which categorizes models with a waist width of 120mm or more and is designed for skiing in deep powder. It has the widest shape of the brand, which means it offers outstanding buoyancy. The unique pintail shape enhances the ease of handling while also providing excellent release in the latter half of turns.
There are two models, standard and carbon, which have the same dimensions but use different materials, allowing for skis with different ride characteristics to suit each skier's preferences.

Polarve Standard / Light 175, 180, 186cm | 135-107-128mm | R = 23m (180cm)
*The image is of the Polarve Standard

The Polarve is an all-mountain model that Kenji Kono has been looking for, based on his experience with skis. Its unique design makes it feel like you're riding a ski with a 107mm waist width, but you won't even notice it. One of the reasons for this is the combination of carbon and titanal, which gives it both lightness and stability. It's also why it's called a new generation of Vector Glide.
This ski also comes in two types, Standard and Light, which use different materials but keep the same dimensions. Each type has a model with design supervision by JAZZY SPORT.

Aventura Metal / Standard / Super Light 178, 185cm|135−100−120mm|R=18.2m (178cm)
*The image is Aventura Metal

The Aventura features a 100mm waist width and offers high levels of carving performance and buoyancy. Choose from four skis to suit your riding style: the standard with a fiberglass base, the metal with stability even on rough snow or icy surfaces, the superlight with a carbon fiber laminate for lightness and maneuverability, and the women's light model with a lightweight "SUPER LIGHT CORE" core. This is a ski that can be enjoyed in a variety of conditions throughout the season
