Miyazawa Yuta's setup
Reviewing the entire setup
What kind of places and situations is this setup intended for skating in?
Yuta MiyazawaThis single ski can be used for everything from slopes to backcountry skiing with a focus on tree runs
Can you tell me why you have this setup?
Yuta MiyazawaI chose this board because it is lightweight and easy to handle, so I wanted one board that could handle groomed snow, powder, and park on the slopes, and cover everything from the high season to the backcountry in early spring
I use alpine bindings to ensure a firm foothold in any situation, and Daymaker bindings, which are heavier when climbing but also stronger when traversing

Ski Impressions

What are your impressions of the performance and ride of these skis?
Yuta MiyazawaThe skis are lightweight and have a 122mm center width. While the rocker makes them prone to flapping and difficult to carve, the stringers prevent flapping even at high speeds, and the camber underfoot makes carving easy, so you can pedal with confidence without the skis moving wildly or slipping off the edges.
The 122mm center width provides plenty of buoyancy, and the soft nose and stiff tail mean you can ride safely without slipping back when you lose your balance, even in situations where the snow conditions change easily, like from powder to backcountry.

What else do you like about the design or special features of these skis?
Yuta MiyazawaWapan's distinctive Japanese pattern and cool design means people of all genders and ages will talk to you on the slopes, and it looks great in photos, so I really like it!
I also like how well the color comes out when placed on the snow

Boots impressions

What are your impressions of the performance and comfort of these boots?
Yuta Miyazawa Even when you press your weight against the tongue in powder, it won't collapse, and it responds quickly even on hard snow, so you can maintain a neutral position even when carving or making big slide turns
What else do you like about these boots, such as their design or special features?
Yuta MiyazawaI really like the moss green military color
Who do you think these boots are recommended for?
Yuta MiyazawaThe shell is the same as that of alpine boots, so it is recommended for those who have done alpine skiing or those who like a firmer boot with strong traction
Binding impressions

What are your impressions of the performance and feel of this binding?
Yuta Miyazawa The power is transferred to the board quickly, responding to sudden movements. It is also resistant to twisting forces, and releases quickly in the event of a dangerous crash, giving you peace of mind without any false release
The shorter heel plate makes the tail softer, making pressing easier than with other bindings

Yuta MiyazawaPivot has a unique shape and comes in a wide variety of colors, so I like being able to choose one that matches my board!
Who do you think these bindings are recommended for?
Yuta MiyazawaRecommended for park skiers and those who use it hard, such as in the side country
It is also recommended for those who are unsure about touring bindings but want to climb lightly (when using CAST)

Where should you mount your bindings and why?
Yuta MiyazawaIt is attached 7.5cm back from the center
Since the glide is like charging forward, you don't push forward, but instead keep the recommended center position for "I" to maintain balance
