We spoke to SWALLOW SKI, a long-established Japanese manufacturer with a 70-year history, about ZUMA SKIS, a freeski brand created to meet the needs of the times, at JSP SNOW EXPO JAPAN 2024 (held February 13-14, 2024 at Pacifico Yokohama)
The lineup continues, but the graphics have been updated
There are no major changes to the lineup for the 2024-2025 season, which includes classic popular models, but the graphics have been completely revamped
kru:z - The long-awaited 161cm is here!
The popular kru:z model, a twin-tip board that allows for fun and natural gliding in any situation, has been expanded with a new size, 161cm, for the 2024-2025 season. The 161cm size was introduced in response to feedback from women and juniors who said, "I want to ride the kru:z, but the 168cm size is just a little too long."
FLAGEA - Features graphics like this on the sole!
The "FLAGEA" is a slopestyle and big air model used by the Chinese national team, but in response to rider requests for a more flashy sole, this season's sole has been given an impactful graphic. Also, if you look closely at the top, you'll see a round hole shaped like a figure eight. The 2024-2025 season FLAGEA features a "LIGHT HOLE TIP" that has a hole in the top to reduce weight
MIY - Atmospheric graphics depicting an ermine living in the snowy mountains
The M.IY is an all-mountain ski with a waist width of 98mm that can be used for everything from powder and backcountry skiing to carving on the slopes
The theme of this season's graphics is animals that live in snowy mountains. The one depicted is an ermine, a common sight in Shiga Kogen. Illuminated by the setting sun, it has a faint orange hue, which is quite romantic. The graphic is full of atmosphere, romantically expressing the beautiful snowy mountains and winter nature of Japan, as you would expect from a Japanese brand
VIABOOM - This is a cool "rabbit"
The VIABOOM has a wider waist width than the MIY, exceeding 100mm, and a flex point tuned for deep snow. This season, the VIABOOM features a cool rabbit design in a clever black, white, and gray color scheme, perfect for enjoying powder in the backcountry
