Born in the snowy mountains of frigid Canada, this anorak is Arc'teryx's top pick for the freeride category this season. It may look relaxed, but it's serious about snowboarding. This is the perfect piece to push the style of riders from both inside and out
A highly-functional anorak has been updated
Arc'teryx is a mountain gear brand that was born in the Coast Mountains on the humid and snowy west coast of Canada. The weather conditions there are similar to those of the island nation of Japan, and the brand is highly trusted by mountaineers and guides across the country
Snow sportswear is divided into three categories, allowing users to choose a model that best suits their style and way of playing: touring, freeride, and resort. The Saber series, which plays a central role in the freeride category, has added an anorak model to its lineup this season. As the name suggests, it has a roomy, relaxed fit and is equipped with specifications that ensure comfort in any situation, whether on the lift, riding, hiking, or resting
The waterproof and breathable membrane is made of thin and lightweight Gore-Tex ePE. It allows moisture to escape even during intense activity, and frequent use of the side zippers and pit zippers makes hiking comfortable. Its wide temperature range makes it a versatile set that can be worn throughout the seasons, from midwinter to early spring

The absence of a full-length main zipper, a feature of an anorak, on the front allows for greater use of the fabric's functionality. This means that while improving waterproofness and breathability, it also reduces the bulkiness of the waterproof zipper, helping to make the jacket lighter and more compact. Another distinctive feature is the large-capacity kangaroo pocket, which adds an accent to the design
"When hiking uphill, you can store your goggles, gloves, and beanie in this bag without having to take off your backpack. It also has a mobile phone pocket on the inside, making it a convenient single-compartment pocket that allows you to carry your smartphone without it accidentally working."
Taiyo Nakanishi, an Arc'teryx support rider who has lived the ski bum life in Canada, where Arc'teryx was born, is also fascinated by anoraks
The outer fabric is made of thick 200 denier recycled nylon, providing enhanced protection against the cold and abrasion. It provides a sense of security in any situation, whether on a snowstorm-hit lift, a ridgeline, or a densely packed tree run. Meanwhile, the ePE membrane is thin and flexible, so it doesn't feel stiff. The three-dimensional cut at the joints does not restrict the movement of the body leading into turns, allowing you to maximize your performance. In other words, choosing the right size for your body is important. Nakanishi describes the fit as follows:
"People who like a relaxed, wide silhouette tend to go up a size and ruin the silhouette. But the Saber Relax provides a beautiful wide silhouette in the right size."
The following features are common to both the jacket and pants. The pockets are large-capacity models with gussets at the bottom. RFID pass slots for IC tickets are located on the left shoulder and right hip. A RECCO® reflector is built in, making it suitable for overseas search and rescue
This unique setup will set you apart from your rivals, and is perfect for the ambitious skier who wants to seriously enjoy both backcountry and the slopes
Taiyo Nakanishi's impressions

@taiyonakanishi
Opening the side zipper allows for easy on and off. The thicker fabric provides improved wind resistance and abrasion resistance from bushes and carriers, giving you a sense of security overall. The three-dimensional cut also allows for easy movement, and the pit zippers and side zippers help prevent chills from sweat. The relaxed fit is wide, but the beautiful cut keeps the silhouette intact. I usually choose a size L for the pants, but with these, a size M for the top and bottom is fine. Recommended for those who want to enjoy lift-access skiing while occasionally visiting base camps
FEATURE

Wide-open side zipper
A triple-tab full-length side zipper on the right and a pit zipper on the left allow for free airflow and make it easy to put on and take off

Thin and lightweight membrane, C-Knit lining
The lining uses C-KNIT Backer Technology, which, as the name suggests, uses a fine knitted thread to reduce the cold feeling when worn and provide a supple and comfortable fit

Kangaroo pocket with excellent storage capacity
The large-capacity kangaroo pockets with gussets can be accessed from both sides. The single-compartment design allows body heat to be transferred, making it ideal for warming hands or carrying goggles or gloves. There's also an internal pocket for a mobile phone

Heavy-duty edge guards
The pants have a built-in spray skirt at the bottom to prevent wind and snow from getting in. The edge guards are made of durable Keprotec fabric, the same color as the original fabric, providing a high level of protection and peace of mind
