Recommended skis [width 110 mm or more] | Attention for the 2023-24 season! 11 Skis with Pro Shop 'Highly Rated' Reviews

The pro shop is very helpful in choosing new skis. You can actually test ride many brands and models on the snow, and by integrating a wealth of accumulated knowledge and feedback from users, you can compare and evaluate products from multiple perspectives. Advice is persuasive. Above all, skiing is the one that strongly reflects the selection and commitment unique to a pro shop. Let's have a discerning pro shop tell us which skis we're most interested in in the 2023-24 season.

When the waist width exceeds 110 mm, the overwhelming buoyancy created by its thick body is used as a weapon to demonstrate free maneuverability in powder. There are many thick and soft flexes, but this zone is where a certain amount of edge grip, rotation, and other well-balanced performance is desired. We have selected dexterous skis that can be enjoyed not only for powder hunting, but also for cruising on the slopes and playing with terrain.

ATOMIC|BENT 110

BENT110|D=133-110-124mm (180cm)|L=164, 172, 180, 188cm|R=18m (180cm)|¥114,290

The popular BENT series that can be enjoyed from freestyle to freeride-oriented people.
The center width of 110mm, which was not previously available in the BENT series, was added from the 2022-23 season, and BENT CHETLER fans have been waiting for it. As with other center width models, the HRZN Tech structure is used to improve buoyancy, and the moderate softness allows for light ski movement in powder and excellent controllability. It is also recommended for those who climb in the backcountry because it is a ski that is light in weight.

ICELANTIC|SHAMAN 2.0 110

More freedom! Never mind! If there is a ski that you can enjoy skiing ... It's perfect for your wish!

SHAMAN 2.0 110|D=160-110-130mm|L=169, 176, 182cm|R=15m (176cm)|¥134,200

◆ Official HP / https://icelanticskis.jp/

Waist 110mm, Top 160mm!

Tail 130mm!! R = 13.5 to 17m, the ridiculous dimension concept is fun not only off-piste but also on-piste and parks! Be light! It seems that it was made from the thought. In recent years, Freeski has been subdivided and many specialized models have been released. Of course, I think that's normal evolution, but more freedom! Don't worry about it anymore! Just when I thought there would be a fun ski to ski, the ski just as I thought was released! There is also a slightly thinner SHAMAN 2.0 99, so this is also recommended as a variation!

Rossignol|Sender Free 110

A masterpiece by Rossignol that convinces you that ``this will win,'' seen in FWT

SENDER FREE 110|D=140-110-133mm (184cm)|L=176, 184, 191cm|R=20m (184cm)

A masterpiece made by Rossignol for freeride in the 2023-2024 season, which was also seen at the FWT (Freeride World Tour) (limited model at some stores).

Over the past few years, freeriding has become more popular, and the number of skis with a center 110mm front is increasing. A twin-tip ski that achieves both buoyancy in powder and riding in hard terrain. Condensing Russian technology, the PEFC-certified poplar wood core is based on the ride comfort unique to wood, the Damp Tech on the top tail provides excellent vibration absorption and stability, and the titanium underfoot provides grip and sharp turns, Air It is a very well-balanced ski that makes it easy to introduce a light swing turn with the tip.
The recommended binding position is 3 cm back from the center, which is quite a set front, but it is set to 2 cm forward and backward as progressive and directional. .

It weighs 2,240g (184cm actual measurement), which is quite solid and feels like a hard spec. A finish that allows you to make sharp turns with your feet. The stability of the air landing is also outstanding, and it is a ski that convinces you that "this will win". I can't recommend it to anyone, but it's a masterpiece that I want to give to skiers who are confident in their skills.

FACTION|MANA 3

Skis that can be enjoyed for a long season with one ski

MANA 3|D=140-112-134mm|L=172, 178, 184, 190cm|R=21m (183cm)|¥126,500

◆ Official HP / https://jp.factionskis.com/

It is also recommended for those who want to enjoy jumping and hitting the natural terrain like a park, but this ski has a camber and a firm footing, so carving on level ground is also fun. The twin tip makes it easy to get through turns, and it is light and stable without making you feel the width of your waist, so it is also recommended for skiers who don't jump.

BLIZZARD | Hustle 11

Show your true power with powder! It's fast and, as the name suggests, "hustle"

HUSTLE 11 |D=142-114-132mm (188cm)|L=164, 172, 180, 188, 192cm|R=21m (188cm)|¥141,900

◆ Official HP / https://www.tecnica-group.com/

First of all, I have one criterion for selection.

Although it is a freeski, it is a ski that allows you to make carving turns comfortably even on level ground. There are various ways of thinking and styles, but I put this as the axis. There are many great skis in the world that specialize in big mountains and powder, but it's all about choosing the rider and the place to use. It is true that there are many such skis. So, inevitably, I choose skis that are easy to use both on the slopes and in the backcountry. The reason why I recommend this ski the most is that it is "fun to ride".

Skiing is the most important thing! Until now, BLIZZARD's skis have been strong skis with basic metal laminates. This kind of image was preceded, but HUSTLE is composed of a new core material + carbon fiber. The sidecut itself is the same as BLIZZARD's RUSTER, but the way the board moves is completely different.

The new core material itself is light, and you can feel the flexibility under your feet. The response of the carbon is added there, so the impression is that it is a light ski that bends well. Is it a powder scene as a scene that shows the seriousness of this ski?

Anyway, it is fast and can do "HUSTLE" like the name. It doesn't sink as deep as metal skis, so even skiers who aren't used to powder can use it. I myself used this ski mainly this year, but it did a perfect job except for the wind pack and ticking powder on the north slope of Happo! As for the slopes, it depends on the bindings you use, but it promises fun carving turns. The most important selling point of this ski is the feeling of lightness, so separate bindings are recommended. The mount hide (height of metal fittings) should be as low as possible to make the most of the lightness of the board! This ski has a very wide range of fields, so I think you can freely choose the metal fittings to match.

LINE|BLADE OPTIC 114

Flexible in flex and torsion

BLADE OPTIC 114 |D=139-114-132mm|L=178, 186, 192cm|R=24m (186cm)|¥143,000

◆ Official HP / https://lineskis.com/ja-jp

A ski that's metal but supple in flex and torsion, perfect for freeriding.
A ski with the image of adding the metal technology of the LINE BLADE model and the VISION of the freeride model and dividing it by two.

It can handle backcountry areas with various changes in snow quality and more severe snow conditions. The image that comes to mind is that if there is metal in the ski, it will be stiff. The perfect ski for freeriders who want to ski on any mountain and on any snow.

ARMADA|ARV116 JJUL

If you can't read the condition and can only take one to the mountain, be sure to

ARV116 JJUL|D=139-116-135mm (185cm)|L=165, 175, 185, 192cm|R=18m (185cm)|¥126,500

It is lightweight and easy to operate, so anyone can enjoy powder riding, and despite being a powder ski, it has good on-piste turning performance and is highly versatile in all conditions.

If the conditions are unpredictable and I can only take one car to the mountains, I will definitely take the JJUL with me. If you list the good points and charms of the ARV116 JJUL, it may look something like this.
・The best powder ride can be easily done by anyone.
・Even on-piste or spring snow, you can easily turn with excellent operability.
・Although it is a powder ski, you can do sharp carving on-piste.
・In spite of being super lightweight, there is a sense of security and stability.
・Light operation such as park skiing is possible.
(Jumping tricks, butter, etc.) By setting SHIFT Binding, you can cover the backcountry and slopes with a single rod.

ATOMIC|BACKLAND 117

Skiing with a sense of security even when the speed increases rapidly

BACKLAND 117|D=140.5-117-129.5mm (184cm)|L=177, 184, 191cm|R=19m (184cm)|¥120,890

◆ Official HP / https://atomicsnow.jp/

It is a ski for intermediate and advanced skiers and is recommended for those who want to step firmly and turn even in powder. The binding position is also in a classic position, and there is a moderate flex that does not bend too much when accelerating, making it very stable and reassuring. This ski is recommended for skiers who want to hit wide slopes.

RMU|BUTTERKNIFE

Powder skis that don't need length exist!

BUTTERKNIFE|D=157-126-134mm|L=176cm|R=Inside 17m, Outside 25m|¥143,000

The era of short fat has arrived!

The characteristic of the butter knife is the asymmetrical shape of a half surfboard, and you can enjoy the feeling of surfing with skis. Center 126mm, 176cm one size. From the firm top to the feet, the tail is supple, and even if it is short, the top stands out and the tail sinks as it moves.

With an asymmetrical radius of 25m outside and 17m inside, the radius is on the outside side from the first half to the middle of the turn, and the turn is smooth, and the radius is on the inside side in the second half. Smooth. The shape of the tail is exquisite, and the movements such as hitting are the best.
Due to its short length, it is very easy to handle, and it is easy to ride on tree runs and terrain. People tend to shy away from it because of its appearance, but even those who don't like powder should ride it. In this day and age, there are powder skis that don't need length due to the wide range of width options! The recommended way to enjoy it is to treat it as a single board like a snowboard in a closed stance, so you can enjoy ski surfing even more!
