LOCUS GUIDE SERVICE | Total support for a wonderful experience in harmony with nature, from Hakuba's backcountry to the slopes | Nagano Prefecture

Living in Hakuba for 15 years, a local guide who lives in Hakuba

LOCUS GUIDE SERVICE has 15 seasons of guiding experience in the Hakuba area.

Taking advantage of the connections unique to local guides living in this land, they will guide you to the best slopes of the day according to the level of the guest. Kazuya Furuse, who presides over LOCUS GUIDE SERVICE, has spent many years skiing overseas mountains as a ski bum, based in Hakuba, and has been working as a guide for a long time at the long-established backcountry guide "Color Sports Club" in this area.

He also works as an advisor for the FWT (FREERIDE WORLD TOUR). He wants to use his wealth of experience and skills to support all kinds of guests, from those who are new to backcountry to those who are experts, so that they can have a wonderful experience in harmony with nature.

Guests can choose according to their needs and level

LOCUS GUIDE SERVICE not only offers backcountry tours, but also sessions in the Hakuba area ski resorts and riding lessons on the slopes.

This is also one of the big features and attractive points. In the slope session, you can experience the essence of freeriding, which naturally improves while receiving stimulation from other participants, such as how to enjoy the slopes and line picking.

In the slope lessons, you can receive instruction according to your level and request in a small group, from the basics of skiing technology to super advanced techniques that are useful in the backcountry. If you are inexperienced in the backcountry and suddenly worried about whether you can ski in the backcountry, you can learn the basic techniques on the slopes first, so you can make your backcountry debut with peace of mind and enjoy it more.

3 levels of backcountry tours

[Beginner Backcountry Guide]

The best plan for those who are inexperienced in backcountry and those who are not confident in their physical strength and skiing skills. There are plenty of lectures that will be useful in continuing this play in the future. As the process progresses while learning how to climb efficiently and easily, how to enjoy it safely, how to use gear, etc.

If you're interested in backcountry skiing, but think "It looks like it's going to be hard to climb" or "I'm worried if I can keep up with the other participants," try this tour first.

[Intermediate Backcountry Guide]

For those who are already enjoying the backcountry. A full-fledged backcountry tour that aims for the best slopes of the day depending on the conditions, such as aiming for an open barn that exceeds the forest limit if the conditions are good, and enjoying deep fresh snow in the forest if the weather is bad. Experience the depth of the field in the Hakuba area.

[Advanced backcountry guide]

Stretch your legs to the high alpine area, or use lift access to efficiently ski a lot. Depending on the conditions of the day, you can experience the scale and elevation difference that can only be experienced in Hakuba.

In order not to miss good conditions and to quickly pass through dangerous areas, the tour progresses quickly overall, so people who are not confident in their skiing skills or physical strength, and those who are unfamiliar with backcountry gear should participate. Impossible.
