A specialist active in multiple fields on the global stage

Naoyuki Kato is a mountain and snowboard guide who travels the world and finds joy in sharing his passion with others through guiding. In addition to guiding mountains throughout Japan year-round as a private guide, he also serves as director and head guide of TENGU CAT-SKI GUIDES in Hokkaido's Kitadaisetsu region in winter. In spring, he ski guides not only in Japan but also in Alaska, Canada, and the European Alps.

He fell in love with the mountains through snowboarding during his university days, and after graduating, he enrolled at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. While enjoying a life in the wilderness, he also developed his own unique mountaineering style, using splitboards to climb and descend glaciers. Having made his mark on challenging mountains such as Denali (6,194m) in Alaska, after returning to Japan, he has devoted himself to the 6,000-8,000m peaks of the Himalayas.
