Falling jumps are the best way to play with terrain

Hirofumi Ishikawa

Point:
The snowdrifts and mash at the foot of trees are the sweet spot for natural jumps. "You don't need much speed, and it's more like falling than flying.

Once you've checked the direction you're going and where you're going to land, all you have to do is jump. Until you get used to it, it's easier if you step on the jumping point with your skis to firm it up."

Attention
: "Don't jump too high. Falling jumps will result in a larger drop than you expect. Don't jump when the snow has gone and the landing point is hard."

Riding tips :
Check your landing point.
Don't go too fast!

Spray the wall from anywhere,

Hirofumi Ishikawa

Point:
This is a common wall-like terrain found on the side of the course. It's actually quite difficult to make a clean turn and land on it. In particular, it looks very impressive if you can complete the turn while leaning your body towards the inside of the turn.

"When entering, imagine where you will reach the maximum point of the turn and press down. It's not just about pressing down and being done with it, but the key is to adjust the force to continue turning without losing momentum. The image should always be one of emphasis on the flow."

Riding tips :
Decide where to push hardest.
Don't push too hard and stop the flow.

The detour is a treasure trove of hip terrain!

Hidemitsu Okada

Point:
This is a terrain that is often found on detours and other routes, and is played with like a hip jump.
"Imagine jumping and landing on the wall beside the course. The jump off is the same as a hip jump in a park, and you enter by imagining that you've already aligned your body angle with the slope you're landing on.

When landing, aim for a spot with powder. Conversely, if there's no powder, it's wise not to force yourself to jump. If you land at the bottom of the wall, it quickly becomes flat, making it difficult to withstand the impact."

Riding tips :

on powder snow is safer, as it avoids landing at the bottom of the wall.
