Hakuba Valley is a vast area with 10 ski resorts spread across three cities and villages at the foot of the Hakuba Mountain Range in the Northern Alps, a chain of 3,000m-class mountains. The snow, slopes, and scenery are all world-class in Hakuba Valley, and the eyes of the world are now fixed on it
Have you heard of the all-mountain season pass, commonly known as the "Valley Pass," which allows you to enjoy Hakuba Valley to the fullest? It's a lift pass that allows you to freely ski at all ski resorts over the long season. We've picked out five skiers who made the most of the 2024-2025 season with this volleyball pass. We asked them about its appeal and how to enjoy it, especially from the perspective of families and women
Easily choose the best slope

How to enjoy volleyball tickets
We had a lot of snow this season, and we were able to ski in powder almost every week in December. Thanks to this, my son, who is in second grade, can now ski powder at high speeds, and it has allowed us to enjoy it to the fullest! Hakuba Valley's mountains are large, so we can ski long distances and improve both our technique and stamina. I've pretty much memorized the courses, so we can have fun in a variety of ways, whether it's snowing or not
Thanks to the volleyball tickets, I've had a lot of unusual encounters, like meeting professional skaters and having a casual conversation with the editor-in-chief of a certain magazine (lol). Since mid-March, when inbound tourism started to calm down, eating out has also become one of the joys of spending time at Hakuba Valley

I'll come to Hakuba Valley first, then I'll think about it

How to enjoy volleyball tickets
With a volleyball ticket, you can decide not to ski depending on your physical condition or schedule, or you can move between ski resorts, so it's great to be able to do things at your own pace. The psychological aspect of being freed from the pressure of having to ski is very significant. I'm a snowboarder, but recently I've also started enjoying skiing, and the volleyball ticket has allowed me to easily change gears. This season, my best memory was being able to enjoy the powder on the 11th line at Hakuba Norikura by myself without any worries while the kids were competing
After skiing, I often go to "roundAbout" in front of the station. I also go a little further to Otari Roadside Station, where the hot springs are great and the food is delicious! I especially love the rice cooked in the traditional Japanese hearth

The "Volleyball Ticket Community" expands as people skate every week

This year, I also ventured to a ski resort I hadn't been to before. Even when other slopes were crowded, I was able to enjoy the powder almost to myself. You always discover new things when you go to different places! I especially enjoyed the several session events I held, mainly with Valley Ticket members. Hakuba Valley has endless ways to have fun, so it really opens up your dreams
After skiing, we enjoy chatting and sipping flat whites at our favorite cafe in Echoland, "Calico," looking at the videos and photos we took that day. During the peak season, Hakuba Valley feels like a foreign country, so it feels like a little trip. We were able to share the same enthusiasm as the other members who visit Hakuba Valley every week with our volleyball tickets, and it was a really fun season!

A different approach than when I was just visiting as a tourist

How to enjoy volleyball tickets
Skiing has become a part of my lifestyle because I can go skiing first thing in the morning, in my spare time, or whenever I feel like it. I now spend a few hours before work practicing telemark skiing, then change in the car and head straight to work. If I have time after skiing, I like to relax in Cortina's "beauty bath"! Being able to ski the whole mountain according to my mood and schedule that day has really broadened the scope of my schedule and practice
I no longer ski for an entire day, but can enjoy skiing for a few hours at a time, gradually monitoring my physical condition. I'm facing the snowy mountains for a longer period of time, with a completely different sense of distance than when I had a one-day pass. This year, I was happy to be able to ski telemark skiing on the same slopes as my alpine skiing friends

Someday I'd like to ski at all 10 ski resorts in one day!

How to enjoy volleyball tickets
Between working at a hotel, raising children, and working in the ski industry, there are often days when I only have an hour to ski, so I try to use that free time to ski. Having a volleyball ticket means I can easily go skiing without having to worry about the weather, time, and lift tickets, so I'm really grateful for that
Also, because Hakuba Valley has a long season, on days when it is expected to be crowded, no matter how good the snow is, I have the peace of mind to let the guests who come to Hakuba Valley enjoy skiing on the good snow and take a rest myself (laughs)
My favorite cafe is "Kakka." I always look forward to having sweets and coffee after skiing!
