Let's take a closer look at the new appeal of this store, which has attracted many fans as a direct store for the popular brands Goldwin and THE NORTH FACE

"Proposals that touch the sensibilities of snow activity enthusiasts"

The ground floor will feature products focused on winter activities. The concept is "Proposals that touch the sensibilities of snow activity enthusiasts." In addition to backpacks and gloves, the store also stocks hard gear and accessories that were not previously available

Layering items are lined up on the table, making it easy to pick them up and check their texture
SWEET PROTECTION helmets and goggles, as well as FISCHER boots, are also on display

The key point for STEEP readers is that they have started to offer a complete range of backcountry gear, centered around THE NORTH FACE backpacks, which are popular in the backcountry scene, as well as snowshoes, poles, beacons, shovels, avalanche safety gear such as probes, first aid kits, and even snow saws

Carefully selected backcountry gear also available

Staff: Koya Tanabe

During his student days, he was a talented alpine racer who was a member of the Gifu Prefecture training team. In his parallel career, he is the founder of the cutting-edge brand "nonsense.", which produces graphics and unique apparel. Having discovered the charm of backcountry skiing, where each ski feels valuable, in recent years he has also been producing videos in the backcountry. He has a strong passion for skiing

[Outerwear] Arris Jacket (Goldwin)

This three-layer garment is made with Gore-Tex products, which are waterproof, breathable, and durable. It's the brand's flagship model, simple and free of unnecessary embellishments. It's packed with the technology and experience cultivated since the company's founding. It's designed with ergonomic draping and a cut-out pattern that allows skiers to move easily

Seamless shoulders
: The three-dimensional cut of the shoulders allows for unrestricted shoulder movement. It also doesn't interfere with carrying a backpack, so there's no stress.

mobile
phone pocket is lined with insulating aerogel, protecting your digital device from the outside temperature and shocks. A smartphone is an essential part of your first aid kit when out in the mountains, and you want to minimize battery drain. The large inner mesh pocket is also convenient for storing accessories.

Large ventilation
: When you raise your arms, it's immediately obvious. The underarm ventilation is large enough to allow your arms to easily fit through. This is convenient when you get hot while hiking or when doing work that requires delicate arm movements.

on the cuffs
has also been carefully cut. As the Velcro on the cuffs is frequently worn and removed, the tape is sandwiched into the fabric to increase durability.

[Bottoms] Arris Bib (Goldwin)

Like the jacket, it uses Gore-Tex. By connecting it to the Arris Jacket, it reliably prevents snow from getting in

the chest pocket
was being developed, a pocket-less design was considered to allow for ease of movement, but in response to requests from the field for more storage space, a pocket was added.

Engineer cut: The
engineer cut is roomy at the feet to allow for ease of movement. Edge guards are usually only on the inside, but now they're on the hem for increased durability.

[Mid-layer] Hybrid Jacket & Hybrid 3/4 Pants (Goldwin)

Here are our recommendations for mid-layers. The fabric contains just the right amount of Primaloft, making it incredibly warm. The jacket also has pockets for storing small items, making it a great item to use as an outer layer depending on the season and weather. The pants are three-quarter length so they don't interfere with your boots, and the knees are cut three-dimensionally to allow for unrestricted movement

Its outstanding elasticity
is its outstanding performance. It is so soft that it follows your movements so well that you don't even feel like you're wearing it. And it's also lightweight, which is a plus.

Base Layer: Wool Grid Zip Hoodie, Leggings, Balaclava, and Gloves (Goldwin)

This base layer is made with Polartec Powerwool, a hybrid material made from a blend of wool and polyester. The inner layer is made of wool, which is highly absorbent and prevents sweat from cooling down, and also has antibacterial and deodorizing properties. The outer layer is made of quick-drying polyester, making it an attractive combination of natural and synthetic fiber. It is soft against the skin and extremely comfortable to wear. The hoodie, leggings, balaclava, and inner gloves are all made from the same material and come in a heather gray color that is easy to coordinate with other items

It has separate cuts so it can also be used as a neck gaiter
You can extend your thumb and index finger to easily operate your smartphone

The inside has a grid structure

By combining polyester and wool in a grid pattern, it combines the warmth of dead air with breathability that allows moisture to escape easily from inside the garment

Convenient chest pocket

There is a mobile phone pocket on the chest. It is rare to find a pocket on a base layer. It is convenient for storing smartphone or camera batteries. It is also useful when you are wearing only one layer in early spring

[Pole] FR13 COMP (ONE WAY)

Goldwin is starting to carry ONE WAY, a new alpine pole brand from Finland, this season. It's a Nordic pole brand with roots in Scandinavian cross-country skiing. The ergonomically designed grip is easy to hold, lightweight, and offers excellent balance. The rings are easily interchangeable, and a powder ring is included. The carbon shaft is lightweight and easy to handle, making it suitable for a variety of conditions

Providing information to help people actively enjoy natural fields

Goldwin THE NORTH FACE Kanda will not only offer product recommendations, but also provide a variety of useful information for actively enjoying the natural field. Customers can apply for membership in COCOHELI, a member-only helicopter search service aimed at backcountry skiers, participate in recycling activities by setting up GREEN CYCLE collection boxes, and learn about ski goods and tuning in collaboration with sister store FISCHER TUNING BASE

There is a counter in a corner at the back of the first floor, where you can sit on counter chairs and watch ski/snowboarding videos on a large PC, get information about snowy mountains from the staff, enjoy conversations about gear and skiing, and maybe even make new friends in the snowy mountains. This is another great benefit of getting something extra while you shop
