Nakayamatoge Ski Resort | Fun Park

Nakayama Toge Ski Resort is attractive because it is rarely crowded

The 2024-2025 season will be open only during the spring ski season, with the opening date being April 1st.
The spring park will be open for one month from April 5th to May 6th.

Nakayama Pass is just 60 minutes from downtown Sapporo. Despite its convenient location, offering direct access from the national highway, its location at an altitude of 830 meters allows for early snowfall. It opens with natural snow in early November, one of the earliest ski resorts in Hokkaido, and is known for its late closing times. However, for the 2024-2025 season, it will only be open during the spring ski season. From Tuesday, April 1st to Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 (national holiday), this

ski resort is quite compact, with only one lift and two runs. Despite its compact size, it has many fans, including Hokkaido residents, and is particularly acclaimed for its extensive park during spring ski season. The much-anticipated "Fun Park" will open on April 5th. As shown in the photo above, the resort offers a wide variety of kickers, spines, boxes, rails, and more.
The long, well-shaped continuous waves are particularly popular. Waves are perfect for both beginners and those new to the park. The spectacular views of Mount Yotei from Nakayama Pass are also worth a visit. It would be a great place to take a day trip from the outskirts of Sapporo to Haruyama for a hike, or to stop by on your way to Niseko in a rental car.

Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain | Step Up Park North

Provided by: Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain

A new snow park paradise has been born, offering a variety of fun experiences for five months depending on the season.

Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain is a snow resort that attracted attention in the 2023-2024 season when the former Alts Bandai and Nekoma Ski Resorts were merged to form a large ski resort with 33 courses and 13 lifts. The two ski resorts were originally linked, with the snow park being moved to the best location at the appropriate time throughout the season, but even after it became Nekoma Mountain, the wonderful park environment will remain the same

The park map for the 2024-2025 season (as of mid-March) looks like this. The orange zones are fields where you can play in the parks, and there are seven different types of parks. There are so many!

Among the seven parks are a night park and a Global Park with a world-class 17-meter kicker, but the main attraction is Step Up Park. It is divided into both north and south areas, but only the north area, Step Up Park North, remains open until the end of the season. The slopestyle park on Devil 3 course can be enjoyed for approximately five months from the opening until the Golden Week holidays in May. The Devil Cat Chair allows for efficient lift operation, and the panoramic view of the park from the lift adds another layer of enjoyment. At the opening, the slopes are easy for beginners to play with, and gradually increase in size, with slopestyle runs ranging from approximately 5 meters to over 10 meters during the high season, aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers. Beginner lanes also appear in the spring, keeping the excitement going until the end of the season

"Step Up Park South" in the southern area is aimed at beginners and intermediate skiers. It is scheduled to be open until March 23rd for the 2024-2025 season. Also, in the southern area, when there is ample snow, there is the extremely popular "Nagareru Park," a long 1,800m long park where you can fly and turn on the walls, and freely play around the terrain on waves, banks, walls, spines, and more. It is scheduled to be open until March 16th for the 2024-2025 season

Provided by: Snow Wave Park Shiratori Kogen

The best park environment in Okumino, with consistently stable conditions

Snow Wave Park Shiratori Kogen is located about an hour and a half by car from Nagoya, but it usually opens early, in late November. Snow machines are used to maintain stable conditions on the large kickers. Surprisingly, this area receives a lot of snow, and you can sometimes enjoy powder snow as early as March

To make the most of the abundant snow and unique terrain, skiing restrictions are kept to a minimum, creating an environment where all slopes can be skied freely. The uniqueness of this snow park, where you can ski and jump as much as you want and the entire area is natural, is also an attraction. The park has a history of running snow parks since the 1990s, and sophisticated park management techniques have been passed down to successive generations of diggers. Each and every feature is highly refined. The big kicker is renowned as the best in Oku-Mino. Lines for large and small kickers extend on both sides of the quad extending from the base

The 2024-2025 season is scheduled to run until Sunday, April 7, 2025. As of mid-March, the Snow Park has a total of 15 items open, including 20 consecutive waves

Takasu Snow Park | Spring Park "PANORAMA PARK"

Takasu Snow Park's most popular park is PANORAMA PARK, which can be accessed by dropping in from the Panorama Quad Lift at the far right-hand side when viewed from the bottom of the slope. The park is easy to navigate, using terrain such as waves, mini kickers, rails, and boxes, and is overseen by Maohito Yokota, one of the founding members of the professional snowboarding team HYWOD. The course, which is accessed by a single lift, features an elaborate lineup of items, allowing for unlimited fun

The same field is also home to "MIXED UP BANKS," the only multi-purpose park in western Japan that combines kickers and banks, as well as the world-class "No. 1 Half Pipe." Japan's largest half pipe, measuring approximately 120m in length and 7m in height, was built using a cutting-edge pipe dragon by a professional team of half-pipe operators and digger crews, and is a popular training spot for athletes competing in world championships

Next to it is a regular pipe where even beginners can try pipe riding. Additionally, a ski and snowboard cross course called "THE WAVE X" has been built above the beginner course and is proving to be very popular
