The history of BLACK DIAMOND is the history of freeskiing
BLACK DIAMOND was founded in Shimokitazawa in 1994 by Hideo Yoshizawa, a former All-Japan Mogul Skiing Champion, as a pro shop focused on the world of moguls and extreme sports.
In 1998, he produced a mogul course in Naeba, followed by a freeride terrain park in 2001. In 2006, he opened "Kagura Powder Station" at Kagura Ski Resort, renting fat skis and introducing the joys of powder skiing. He has pioneered the world of freeskiing and backcountry skiing, leading the scene.
The Shimokitazawa store has now been renamed BD Shimokitazawa. Reservations are accepted only in the summer. In the winter, Kagura Powder Station is located at Mitsumata Kagura Ski Resort. In addition to the specialized gear and accessories needed for backcountry skiing, the store offers a wide variety of convenient and trendy items for the ski resort, making it a favorite among avid skiers.
Locals from ski resorts around the country also drop by frequently, so you can get a variety of information, making it a very useful place to exchange local information and shop for essential items.

Kagura Powder Tours are divided into three classes: beginner, intermediate, and regular. The beginner tour is for those who are intermediate or above in skiing but are new to backcountry skiing. The intermediate tour is for those who are new to backcountry skiing but aren't confident enough to join a regular tour
