What is Kandatsu Snow Resort like?
Located just 69 minutes from Tokyo and the closest to the Kanto region, it boasts "100% natural snow."
Its accessibility is exceptional, with a minimum travel time of 69 minutes from Tokyo via the Joetsu Shinkansen, followed by a free shuttle bus ride of approximately 7 minutes from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. By car, it's only about 1km (3 minutes) from the Kan-Etsu Expressway Yuzawa Interchange, and parking is free all day.
With night skiing available from early morning until 2am, no other ski resort offers such a long and fulfilling day. With relaxing hot springs and saunas, Wi-Fi-equipped sleeping spaces, and plenty of restaurants with a wide selection of menus, it's packed with everything you need for a day trip, making it one of the most convenient and comfortable resorts in Japan
Even beginners can enjoy a 3,500m long run on the slopes, and there are plenty of high-quality, ungroomed powder areas, mogul areas, and steep slopes with a maximum gradient of 45 degrees, so everyone from beginners to advanced skiers will be satisfied. Kandate is also famous for its high-quality snow park and free ski school

A long course along the ridge with a total length of 2,900m. On a clear day, you can enjoy a refreshing cruise with magnificent views. The course is relatively easy with moderate slopes up to a certain point, but the slope increases as you descend, making it a challenging course. Note that the course is only open on weekends, holidays, and during the New Year period.

The "Kami no Yu & SAUNA" bathing facility
is a hot spring located next to the ski resort. It boasts one of the largest public baths in the Yuzawa area, accommodating 400 people, as well as a jacuzzi, open-air bath, and sauna. There is also a napping area where you can relax after your bath. A men's sauna opened in the 2023-2024 season.
