Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort ['25-26]

Introducing recommended courses, weather forecasts, live cameras, and course maps for Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort

What is Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort like?

The spectacular view of Mt. Kasatake from the top of the slope and the "Kumayuki" powder snow are the attractions

Kumanoyu is well known for its heavy snowfall in Shiga Kogen. Most of the bowl-shaped ski resort faces the north slope. The slopes, which stretch between 1,690 and 1,960 meters above sea level, are not directly exposed to sunlight on the north slope, so the snow conditions remain excellent for a long time. The snow is dry and excellent, and the resort is nicknamed "bear snow," making it a popular ski resort among powder lovers.

Although the overall size is compact, there are many courses with firm slopes, making for a great challenge. There are also many drop-offs, so you'll never get bored playing. The beautiful sunset and spectacular view of Mt. Kasatake that can be seen from the top of the third lift (1,960 meters above sea level) are also unique attractions of Kumanoyu. From there, you can also connect to Yokoteyama Ski Resort.

Ski Resort, located just a 3-minute walk away, is a famous hot spring that is said to be the oldest in Shiga Kogen and is fed directly from its own source. As you can see, the water is a beautiful jade green, making it a rare and valuable source even in Japan. The indoor bath is made of cypress and has an impressive, stately and elegant appearance, and there is also an open-air rock bath with a waterfall flowing directly next to it. This atmosphere is irresistible, like a model of a Japanese hot spring.
