Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort ['25-26]

Introducing recommended courses, weather forecasts, live cameras, and course maps for Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort

Shiga Kogen Kumanoyu Ski Resort is like this

The spectacular view of Mt. Kasadake and the “Kumayuki” powder seen from the top of the slope are attractive

Kumanoyu is well known for its heavy snowfall in Shiga Kogen. Most of the bowl-shaped ski resort faces the north slope. The slopes, which stretch between 1,690 and 1,960 meters above sea level, are not directly exposed to sunlight on the north slope, so the snow conditions remain excellent for a long time. The snow is dry and excellent, and the resort is nicknamed "bear snow," making it a popular ski resort among powder lovers.

Although the overall size is compact, there are many courses with firm slopes, making for a great challenge. There are also many drop-offs, so you'll never get bored playing. The beautiful sunset and spectacular view of Mt. Kasatake that can be seen from the top of the third lift (1,960 meters above sea level) are also unique attractions of Kumanoyu. From there, you can also connect to Yokoteyama Ski Resort.

Recommended information from ski resorts

Recommended gourmet food

Restaurant Belle d'Or
is highly recommended! In addition to limited quantity curry bread, standard curry, and hearty sauce cutlet bowls, we boast a wide variety of items, including ramen, side dishes such as fries and salads, and desserts.

Recommended hot springs

Kumanoyu Onsen Hotel
The official hotel of the ski resort, Kumanoyu Onsen Hotel, located 3 minutes walk away, is famous for its hot springs, which are said to be the oldest hot springs in the Shiga Highlands and are fed directly from their own source.
As you can see, the hot water is a beautiful jade color and is one of the rarest in Japan. The indoor bath is made of cypress wood and has an impressive, dignified appearance, as well as an outdoor rock bath with a waterfall flowing right next to it. The atmosphere is irresistible, like a model for Japanese hot springs. Operating hours: 12:30-15:30 (Weekdays) 12:30-15:00 (Saturdays and Holidays)
