Introducing Okushiga Kogen Resort's recommended courses, weather forecast, live camera, and course map.
Okushiga Kogen Resort is such a ski resort
The powder quality
that stands out in the Shiga area Okushiga, located in the innermost part of the Shiga Kogen, is one of the few ski resorts in the Shiga Kogen that operates solely on natural snow. This is an area where a large amount of snow falls and accumulates. Boasting an overwhelming altitude of 1,500m at the base and 2,000m at the top, it also has favorable conditions on the northeast slope, so you can definitely enjoy powder snow.
Even on the slopes, there is a wide variety of courses, including steep slopes with uncompacted snow where you can enjoy overhead dry powder after snowfall, scenic courses where you can enjoy beautiful tree riding, and long courses with a total length of 2.2 km. There is also a passageway that connects to the adjacent Yakebiyama Ski Resort, and you can ski both if you purchase a lift ticket that applies to all 18 Shiga Kogen ski resorts. Enjoy Okushiga's natural beauty and scale.
"Mt.3 PASS" - Ski to your heart's content at three ski resorts: Okushiga, Yakebitaiyama, and Madarao

Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort is the largest in Shiga Kogen and has a wide selection of ungroomed runs. Madarao Kogen Ski Resort boasts high-quality powder known as "Madapow." The Mt. 3 PASS, a season pass that allows you to freely travel between these three attractive resorts in Nagano Prefecture, is now on sale. On sale until January 31, 2026. Adults cost 85,000 yen.
Okushiga Kogen Resort Recommended Course
・Kumaotoshi course
Maximum slope: 30 degrees Average: 20 degrees / Distance: 400m / Slope orientation: South
The steepest non-compacted snow advanced course in Okushiga. It is a slope that advanced to the skier's right in the middle of the downhill course. Flanked by trees on both sides. It's also not very wide. The top of the course is in the middle of the course, and the topography slopes toward both ends.
The skier's right is also dotted with depressions, so there are jump points. The skier's left has loose terrain that is easy to hit towards the end of the course.
・Downhill course
Maximum slope: 28 degrees Average: 19 degrees / Distance: 2,200m / Slope orientation: East
Okushiga's famous course where you can run a long run of 2,200m from the end of the Okushiga gondola. The upper part is intermediate level, and the slope becomes steep from the middle, and the course changes abundantly. You can enjoy the feeling of a tree run if you get in between the trees on both sides of the course. It is said to be the most fun course in Okushiga by freeriders.
The specialty course of the ski resort, which can be accessed immediately from the Okushiga Kogen Hotel side, is a steep slope for intermediate and advanced skiers. It's usually groomed, so it's a good idea to challenge steep slopes with a maximum slope of 30 degrees while making dynamic turns with carving skis.
Although there is a slight change in slope in the middle, the steep slope of the single burn, which extends vertically, is sufficient for sliding. The skier's left and lift side slopes are always covered with uncompacted snow, so they are prone to uneven surfaces. Let's play free riding. The snow is more compacted on the light side than the center, so it feels great to drop your skis vertically and make speedy turns.
