What is Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort (Niigata Prefecture) like?
It is closed during the harsh winter due to heavy snowfall! An experience you can only get here

Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort suddenly appears after passing through the 22km long Silver Line Tunnel. The breathtaking views of Mt. Hiuchi and Mt. Shibutsu, as well as Lake Okutadami, from the summit are truly breathtaking.
The all-natural snow is unique to one of Niigata Prefecture's heaviest snowfall areas. However, during the peak season, the snow is so heavy that it becomes impassable and the ski resort is temporarily closed.
Even in spring, there are many opportunities to enjoy powder snow, making it synonymous with spring skiing. The soothing forest courses through the beautiful primeval beech forests, the spring snow park and half-pipe that make use of the large amount of snow, and the pleasant corn snow cruising are all extremely popular ways to end the season.
