What is Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort (Niigata Prefecture) like?
It is closed during the harsh winter due to heavy snowfall! An experience you can only get here

After passing through the incredibly long Silver Line Tunnel, which stretches for a full 22km, Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort suddenly appears. The breathtaking views of Mt. Hiuchigatake, Mt. Shibutsusan, and Lake Okutadami from the summit are simply stunning.
As one of Niigata Prefecture's heaviest snowfall areas, it boasts all-natural snow. In fact, during the peak season, the snow is so heavy that access is impossible, and the ski resort is temporarily closed—an extraordinary amount of snow.
Even in spring, there are many opportunities to enjoy powder snow, making it synonymous with spring skiing. The forest courses, where you can be soothed by the beautiful primeval beech forest, the spring snow park and halfpipe that take advantage of the abundant snow, and the exhilarating cruising on the corn snow are all very popular ways to end the season.
