Rusutsu Resort (Hokkaido) is a ski resort like this
Official PV
Enjoy beautiful powder tree riding on an overwhelming scale
Rusutsu Resort is located in the central area of Hokkaido, close to Niseko. It boasts 37 runs on three mountains - West Mt., East Mt. and Mt. Isola - with a total ski run of 42km, making it the largest single resort in Japan. The vast fields are efficiently laid out with hooded lifts and gondolas, allowing for efficient skiing and comfortable transport
Mount Yotei blocks the moisture flowing in from the Sea of Japan, resulting in drier powder than the Niseko area. Intermittent snowfall from December to February resets the faces with fresh snow almost every day, making for a high chance of hitting powder.
Furthermore, the slopes of Mt. Isola and East Mt. face north, so they are less exposed to the sun, maintaining good snow conditions. Rusutsu, surrounded by abundant nature, is also a great place to enjoy tree runs in the beautiful forests scattered throughout.
Topics from the '25-26 season
Depending on how you use it, the 25-hour ticket and 5-hour top-up ticket are available again this season
The "25-hour" gondola lift ticket is a lift ticket that can be used 25 times in one-hour increments, and can be used across dates during the season. A 25-hour ticket is a ticket that contains 25 one-hour tickets. When you first pass through a gate, one hour is subtracted from your IC lift ticket, leaving you with 24 hours remaining. From that point on, you can pass through the gate as many times as you like within the hour. From then on, the time is subtracted every hour in the same way, for a total of 25 hours of use
After skiing for an hour from the gate, your ski mileage will not be deducted until you pass through the gate again, so you can take a leisurely lunch break during your time off. You can also ride the Across 1st and 2nd Pair Lifts, East Gondola Line 1, and Tower Pair Lift, which are used to travel back, for free, so you can rest assured
If the 25-hour ticket is not enough, you can add a "5-hour top-up" which can be added to your card if you have purchased a "25-hour ticket (including advance tickets)." The 5-hour top-up can also be used across dates
This winter, Lone Pine, the base of East Mt., will be completely renovated! ~A comfortable space for skiers and snowboarders~
Lone Pine, the slope restaurant located as the gateway to East Mt. and Mt. Isola, has undergone a complete renovation and will reopen on Monday, December 1st. Located at the foot of East Mt., it is easily accessible from the various hotels at Rusutsu Resort. Adjacent to the day-use parking lot, it has become a popular base for many users, meeting up on the slopes, eating, and taking a break. This renovation has completely revamped everything from the restaurant, shop, lockers, lounge, common areas, and restrooms. It will be reborn as a space where skiers and snowboarders from Japan and abroad can enjoy resort life in greater comfort and safety.
