"STEEP SKI BOOK 2026" released on May 23rd - The most popular ski gear right now -

"STEEP" will follow in 2024 with the publication of a magazine.
Starting with this second issue, "STEEP" will take the lead, and "SKI BOOK" will be the subtitle. Have you noticed? By aligning the names of the magazine and the website, we are expressing our determination to deepen the affinity between them.
While the website has many articles dealing with freeriding and freeskiing, the "STEEP" magazine is composed of content that updates skiing, including basic skiing and alpine skiing.

This issue, our second, is themed around "gear," a path that all skiers take.
We created the new ski impressions section in particular by trial and error, relying on the intuition of many skiers, both professional and amateur. We'd like to thank everyone who cooperated on the snow.
However, with limited space in the magazine, it's very difficult to include everyone we asked. But don't worry, we've prepared a web platform for you.

For skiers, May marks the end of the season as the snow disappears, but it also marks the start of the next season.
During this time, STEEP, moving back and forth between digital and analog, will continue to inspire passionate skiers who want to keep skiing for the rest of their lives.

Ski Boots Impressions: 5 New Boots That Have Been Released in Recent Years

These boots are made with a completely new mold that has never existed before. Whether it's alpine skiing or freeride, one thing they have in common is that there are many things you can't really know until you actually put your feet in and try skiing. Whereas with skis we took into account the opinions of many people, with boots we narrowed down the conditions as much as possible to give impressions. We decided that by having one skier compare each boot, we would be able to get a clear sense of their characteristics. The person who volunteered to be our subject was Saiki Shinji, principal of the school at Maiko Snow Resort. He was an alpine skier and demonstrator during his student days, and he also competes in freeride competitions while teaching techniques at the school, making him the perfect person to be our subject

MADE BY HAND "We make original gear because it doesn't exist"

While high-performance gear equipped with the latest technology is on the rise, "craft gear," which is made in small batches but is packed with the passion of its makers, is gaining attention. Skis, gloves, backpacks, beanies...
The genres are diverse, and from the selection of materials to the sewing and finishing, they are characterized by their ingenuity in adapting to the local climate and the Japanese climate. Some of these products are fully custom-made, carefully crafted in consultation with each individual user, giving them a warmth and special feeling that cannot be found in mass-produced products.
In this article, we introduce five craft gear brands that adhere to this "emotional manufacturing" philosophy, and ask their makers to tell us their stories.
