Sugimoto Kosuke rose to fourth in the world rankings in moguls in 2022 and was able to compete in the Beijing Olympics, which had been his long-cherished dream, but he was not satisfied with his ninth place finish and continues to challenge the world, aiming for even greater heights.
He continued to ski with the goal of winning a medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, but poor health and injuries sustained during the race prevented him from achieving good results, and he was unable to stand on the grand stage in Italy.
But he refuses to give up.
Reflecting on his physical improvements and his own abilities, he has decided to restart his career, aiming to reach the top in five years.
This video captures him as he is now.
Below is a comment from Kosuke Sugimoto about the video project:
There may be many people who only hear the word "mogul" once every four years.
However, there are athletes who have chosen moguls as a way of life and are facing it every day.
I want to share this true story with those who have supported me up until now, and with those I will meet in the future.
And by experiencing this way of life, I hope that people will be able to feel, even just a little, the depth and beauty of moguls and winter sports.
It was from this idea that UNBREAKABLE was born
This is EPISODE.000.
It is the prologue that marks the beginning of the story.
Not all moments are glamorous.
At times, he appears pathetic, vulnerable, and even hides his true colors. But even so, it shows the "now" of Sugimoto Kosuke, a man who faces both sport and life head-on. The LINKUP FILM CREW faithfully captured each and every moment on film.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me up until now, and to those who continue to support me even now
This is a declaration of intent from one man, Kosuke Sugimoto, to continue facing moguls and standing on the snow
