Here are 7 films you absolutely must see

No,1 GOOD LUCK - A Jossi Wells & Torin Yater Wallace Film

is the second backcountry film from longtime top freestyle riders Josey Wells and Trin Yater-Wallace.
This time, they're joined by young halfpipe talent Burke Irving and Chris Logan, who starred in "THE BIG PICTURE" series, and they're back even more powerful than ever.
The film was shot by Chris's brother, Sean Logan. The film showcases the big jumps and deep powder of the backcountry in Wyoming and Idaho, USA. It also includes footage of a session at a special park in Aspen, Colorado.
Many of the staff are experienced riders, and you can sense the extraordinary attention to detail in the filming, editing, riding, and trick selection.

No.2 The Bunch - LOVE YOU TOO

As we enter the 2020s, the overall skill level of skiers continues to rise. However, there are fewer riders with unique and original skiing styles that are instantly recognizable.
The Bunch's work, however, has established a consistent style, driven by originality and imagination.
One of the crew, Alex Hackel, won a silver medal at the 2021 X Games RealSki, and this film, released just six months afterward, contains an incredible amount of footage. Despite years of groundbreaking skiing, the crew continues to push the boundaries with tricks. The skillful music and visual direction create an immersive experience that makes you feel as if you're right there with the skiers. While
street skiing may be unfamiliar to most readers, this film is especially recommended for those who feel like a lot of ski videos seem similar.

No,3 Markus Eder's The Ultimate Run - The Most Insane Ski Run Ever Imagined

Marcus Eder, an Italian slopestyle skier, represented Japan at the Sochi Olympics and was the 2019 Freeride World Tour Series Champion.
This film, which he shot over a total of 90 days over two seasons, has not only caught the attention of skiers and snowboarders. It even made an appearance on Japanese variety shows, astounding viewers at home.
From the peaks of Zermatt to glaciers and ice caves, from perfectly groomed parks to urban rides around ancient castles, Eder uses all of his skills to carve lines in every direction.
His flowing style, even on fat skis that prioritize stability at high speeds, is flawless in the delicate movements he performs, such as spin tricks on rails and taps.
The film was produced by Legs of Steel, known for their high-quality productions.
If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out!

No,4 BRAP SKI 1 - FULL FILM (4K Ultra HD) - CRAZY KARL

Brap skiing is skiing from a snowmobile.
Carl Forstvedt and his friends access America's vast backcountry by snowmobile, create huge jumps, and have fun. This film captures that lifestyle. At first
glance, it seems like a typical ski movie, but what's particularly noteworthy is the variety of drone footage. There have been many previous films that used drone shots. This film is packed with high-quality footage that makes them all seem obsolete.
Various angles are attempted to express the overwhelming sense of speed, the vastness of the field, and the style of each rider, and it's simply cool.
It seems that there are a small number of people in Japan who enjoy skiing and snowboarding using snowmobiles. I'd like to try it someday.

No,5 Burrrlapz | Touch The Snow | A Video About Carving

Dylan Siggers and Burrrlapz's latest work, "Touch the Snow," combines classic turns with a new style.
It captures the joy and beauty of skiing, a sport everyone experiences.
The feeling of shoveling snow with a slide turn, the G-forces of a carving turn, the joy of flying over small bumps and skiing with friends, makes you want to go skiing again. It evokes fond memories of gently falling snow at night, warming your numb hands with a can of cocoa or corn soup.
Professional riders, and even casual skiers, will surely find many experiences they can relate to in this work. In a world where the sheer volume of footage of incredibly deep powder and incredible action is inundated every year, this nostalgic yet refreshing style shines through.

No,6 The North Face presents: COALESCE

British skier Josie Wells, who has captivated many with her stylish skating, and ballerina Chelsea Kiefer combine skiing and dance movements in this duet, showcasing the precision and beauty of their refined techniques.
Action sports like skateboarding are now commonly used in advertising on the streets and on television. Not only that, skateboarding is increasingly seen in advertisements for high-end brands, blurring the line between high-end brands and streetwear.
This work, created as an advertisement for The North Face, is undoubtedly a masterpiece within this trend.
Action sports, in addition to their leisure and competitive aspects, also have a "performing art" aspect—artistic physical actions and actions—and have been the subject of numerous commercial photographs and video works. This work contrasts the sport with ballet, a less commercial performing art. This work,
which expresses skiing as an art form in an unprecedented way, is something we highly recommend you "enjoy."

No.7 Yuhei Yamada's “Guilty Pleasure” part

"Guilty Pleasure" is the new video part from Yamada Yuhei, also known as "Kun-san."
Having continued to shoot on the streets since before his previous work, "Komainu," the cameraman and almost all of the crew members who skated with him naturally became skaters and snowboarders. Yamada's skiing style, influenced by their camerawork, spot choices, and skating, has a unique worldview. This work not only includes scenes of street scenes, but also scenes on a huge pillow line. The music is provided by "rira" and "Rakutensai," who are part of the same crew as Yamada, who also works as a DJ.
The passionate MC performances over neo-classical beats are also one of the highlights.

Street style

No.8 Nomadic, Quebec

This is a season edit of Canadian ski bum Jeremy Goldie.
Jeremy's skiing captures famous street spots in Quebec, Canada.
Since several brands of skis are used in the video, it seems he is unsponsored. The video begins with a drone selfie of a car, followed by numerous still shots that suggest he was filming alone. Shooting
street scenes entirely on his own requires confronting fear and a sense of helplessness. Capturing a wide variety of still shots requires a truly passionate passion for skiing. This
passionate video shatters the stereotype that "you have to be a rider to film the street..."

No.9 Siver Voll street 20/21

He can switch rails and spin with ease. It's no exaggeration to say that he's the best rider on rails in the world. That rider is Siver Foll from Norway.
Siver has always shown his talent in parks, and in his latest street work, he continues that same style with a string of amazing tricks. With long rails that could be mistaken for video game footage, this work fully demonstrates riding that is perfect for the Instagram generation.
Be sure to check out his park videos and Instagram.
You're guaranteed to be hooked on his incredible tricks.

No.10 "SECURITY NOTICE" alex hall

This is a full street performance by Alex Hall, winner of REALSKI 2021. It goes without saying that he's packed in a variety of hammer tricks.
Street-themed films tend to be serious. The fatigue of preparing for each ski run, the fear of not being able to pull off the trick he's aiming for, the frequent stops he gets scolded for... Compared to snowboarding films, skiing has traditionally had fewer playful moments. With the recent rise of social media, films have become shorter, leaving less room for fun, even in snowboarding. However
, even while Alex pushes himself harder than anyone else, he never forgets that sense of fun.
Not just in this video, but throughout his career, he expresses the joy of skiing. If he's not involved in editing, he chooses playful tricks.
Alex boasts high results in competitions and a bright, vibrant presence in his visual expression.
He's solidifying his reputation as the next generation of superheroes.

No. 11 Forrmula

In Northern Europe, snow falls even in the cities, and winter sports are a familiar presence.
Finnish young crew Fore combines the power of a mighty winch with unconventional creativity to carve out a frantic assault on the city. Scenes of the objet d'art and residential areas in central Helsinki give a sense of the familiarity and tolerance with which Finnish people feel about skiing. They also create some fairly large sections with confidence.
This work stands out for its bold and dynamic use of the locations. There are probably many cases where large-scale construction using snow ends in anger and the project is scrapped, but the large sections are still fascinating to watch.

It's also great that they're taking a different direction from the crews at THE BUNCH, SUEDE, and Harlaut Apparel. Right now, the street ski scene is really hot in Scandinavia

No.12 Suéde - Rip in Pieces

Peyben won the silver medal at Real Ski 2019, and this film was shot by filmmaker Emil Larsson, who also filmed it. Suede is a type of tanned leather and another name for Sweden.
While his style is heavily influenced by "THE BUNCH," introduced in No. 2, he has his own unique style in terms of trick selection, editing, and even the soundtrack.
I apologize for nitpicking, but this film includes breakbeats as background music. This is a choice only available to those familiar with European rave culture, and there are brief cuts of party scenes. Youth nightlife in Europe, North America, and Asia is also completely different. This fascinating glimpse into various cultures is fascinating.
The creative devices and shocking tricks scattered throughout the film suggest the emergence of new talent. Oliver Carlberg, winner of Level 1 SuperUnknown XIV, delivers particularly astounding skiing. He also appears in "THE BUNCH - Love You Too," and his skiing is memorable in both films.

No,13 Simon Bartik - Slav and Friends FULL MOVIE

This project was shot over two seasons by Simon Bartic. Czech skier "Boss" Daniel Hanka also makes a spectacular appearance. From the streets of the capital Prague to young skiers showing off in the parks, to spring sessions at closed ski resorts,
it's all packed with creative ideas.
Filming ski lines (tracking shots of successive jib tricks) is more difficult than skateboarding, as the speed range is faster. However, he makes good use of images that can only be captured with a 360 camera. His video techniques are also creative, with animations written over live action and photographs cleverly incorporated into the footage, making it never boring.
This is a film that allows you to fully enjoy the Czech style, which has not been well known in Japan until now.

No,14 "WUN" Harlaut Apparel Co. | Full Video

This is a team movie for Harlow Apparel. Harlow is the name of freeskiing's darling, Henrik Harlow.
The team is full of tough guys who embody dope style.
It's rare to see a brand these days with such a cohesive team.
Even if Henrik retires in the future, his established style will likely be passed down and live on as a meme. This video gives us such hope.
