Topics from the brands and product lineup for 2026-2027
A long-awaited new size has been added to the DANCER series
Based on the concept of "skating freely and playfully," the DANCER series is a popular all-mountain freeride line that combines delicacy, flexibility, and energetic riding. Following the introduction of the on-piste specialized 79 in the 2026 season, the 89 and 99 will be added to the lineup for the 2026-2027 season
Dancer 89, who keeps their own rhythm」
Known overseas as the "FRONTSIDE MAESTRO," this frontside model covers a wide range of terrain, from groomed slopes to all-mountain riding. As its name "Maestro" suggests, meaning artist or music conductor, it features a smooth and refined handling feel, like a master who can freely control various turning arcs
In addition to the poplar wood core model, which stands out for its light and supple ride, there are two types available: the TI model, which features two layers of ultra-thin titanal plates. Both models offer ease of handling and stability at high speeds, making them ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers who want to enjoy skiing at their own comfortable pace and in a relaxed manner
This model, nicknamed the "ALL-MOUNTAIN EXPLORER," is, as its name suggests, for skiers who want to step off the groomed slopes like an explorer and challenge themselves with uncharted terrain and snow conditions. It employs the same poplar wood core construction as the 89, achieving a high level of balance between maneuverability on groomed slopes and buoyancy in powder
Furthermore, for more challenging situations, the TI model, with its enhanced freeride elements, truly shines. The metal sheet absorbs vibrations during turns, enabling smooth and stable riding at high speeds. Its moderate rocker shape provides nimble handling even on rough snow surfaces
Uncompromising quality and an evolved system model
Both the Dancer89 and 99 feature highly durable "XL 2.5MM edges" and a brushed (matte) finish on the top sheet that makes scratches less noticeable. Additionally, the standard (non-metal) models utilize an elliptical sidecut that smoothly connects multiple radii, resulting in a natural grip at turn initiation and effortless maneuverability during turns
Another key characteristic of FACTION today is its production at its own factory in Austria, a leading country in environmental protection, which actively utilizes recycled materials and uses 100% renewable energy
Furthermore, for next season, a "SYS (System)" model will be added, which will be welcome news for skiers who primarily ski on groomed slopes. The "Salomon Strive GW 11" bindings are pre-mounted in the best position, and the durability of the top section is further enhanced by a tip protector
With the addition of new waist widths, the stage for the "dancers" who freely soar across the entire mountain has expanded even further. While further sharpening the individuality of each ski, the lineup has evolved into one that can respond to a variety of snow conditions and terrains
Founded in 2006 in Verbier, Switzerland, the home of freeride, freeski brand FACTION is a leader in the freeskiing revolution that has taken the skiing world by storm.
